About an hour later or so, Andrew Horowitz enters the room. I look at him with fear in my eyes, He sits down on the chair beside me. he opens his mouth and speaks, "The NFT could be kept or traded for a physical painting within a year. It was an experiment, and I figured, I'll get an original Damien Hirst for $2000; that's a bargain and I liked the art. I won, I paid, I received the NFT.

This was somewhat of a gateway drug into the NFT world. I'm an admirer of life guru

. If you know anything about him, you know how much he believes in NFTs. Vaynerchuk is a big proponent of utility; NFTs are more than the image, they can have real-world usage like

a plane ticket, a concert ticket, a club membership. He made the prediction that in the next ten years, everyone will own an NFT; I tend to agree with him. NFTs can be much more than a stupid looking cat, I'll come back to this...

Vaynerchuk promoted an artist called Mumbot; I instantly liked the art.

, similar to how I view my own art, is playful and dark, childish and serious. I dug deep; I knew of the environmental concerns around ethereum, and after a couple experimental purchases,

I loathed the high transaction fees and mostly overpriced jpegs. But Mumbot wasn't exclusively on the ethereum network; she had artworks on Hicetnunc (), which seemed like an underground disorganized artist haven that operated on the

network.

What is @Joe Dee gaming 69? Unlike Ethereum, Tezos operates on proof-of-stake. Energy consumption is negligible; I've read it's no different than visiting a webpage (if you think I'm wrong, please enlighten).

Tezos, unlike Ethereum, has transaction fees that are fractions of a penny. It's also incredibly fast and efficient; I rarely experience a failed transaction, whereas with ethereum you can pay a high "gas" fee and get nothing in return.

The visual art on Tezos is also a fraction of the cost of Ethereum, many times for the same artists. @Joe Dee gaming 69

, one of the most important digital artists, had his biggest sale on the ethereum network for $6 million. On tezos, $135,000.

And best of all, the transaction is between the seller and the artist. So if I buy art on the tezos network, I'm directly supporting the artist. Unlike the physical art world, if I buy a piece second-hand ("on secondary")

on Tezos, the artist can opt to receive a percentage of the resale. I get a unique piece of art, the artist gets paid. It's a win-win. On Tezos, I don't mind giving a few dollars to an unknown artist for a piece I enjoy.

If I make a return on a future sale, great. If I don't, great. I'm happy supporting the artists.

I also have discovered some of the great artistic minds and some of my favorites;

.... I'm getting carried away (there are many many more).

Many artists spent their days working menial jobs before NFTs, searching for an audience. Now, it's common to see a twitter post celebrating their ability to create art full-time. This is a beautiful thing.

The visual community is supportive and takes the time to understand and connect with their audience. I frequently receive messages from visual artists thanking me for a purchase and asking questions about me. This is also a beautiful thing.

To address concerns: NFTs are a pyramid scheme, a scam. Yes, there are crooks in the space. I'd say a lot of projects are for the cash; this is most maddening with large corporations jumping on board:

..... But this is true in any business, where there is money there are opportunists. In the non-PFP world, I buy art directly from artists. Are artists at the top of the pyramid? Can this be applied to almost anything? Value is that which someone is willing to pay.

"This is bad for the environment. You don't care about the environment" This is so simplistic. There are definitely issues with crypto, and those issues are being addressed. Ethereum is in the process of an upgrade.Currencies like Tezos are leading the way with clean alternatives.

This will be sorted over time; this is a new technology. And if we're gonna have this conversation, what is our current system and is it good for the environment? I don't know honestly; judging by my experience, the financial world only cares about the bottom line.

"It's a waste of money. It has no value." Well, that's for me to decide, no? I don't appreciate the mob mentality here. I assume the majority of my followers are compassionate intelligent young adults. I ask you...think before you speak.

I do read some comments and emails and I'm just a normal guy. Imagine if you got barraged with threats and negativity. And the reason this kicked off... We're at the beginning of a potential power shift where artists reclaim their stature in the music industry. (cont...)

Frank Dukes is taking a chance, one of a few dozen artists pivoting their entire career. I wouldn't create on ethereum, but to his credit he is carbon offsetting and consciously addressing environmental concerns.

This is more than just a jpeg; this is generative art/music, membership to a producer community, access to a sample library. This is a symbolic token of an artist finding a community directly with their audience.

For that, I have participated and commend the initiative. If this winds up being a failed experiment, next time someone will learn from the mistakes. And with that...thank you for listening and please be nice to each other. Happy Holidays-Andre-" "OH MY FUCKINNG GOD PLEASE SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!!!!" I say not letting Andrew finish.
