It's Sunday so I don't think much will happen today. So I decided to try to practice my abilities. I summon my energy into a small light again, but I make it grow. I'm controlling it pretty well for not knowing what I'm doing. "Stephanie, can I speak to you for a moment?" My Mom says right before she opens my door. I couldn't hide the energy enough in time for her to see, she saw the hues of purple coming from my hands. She stands there, in shock. "Honey, come here!" She beckons for my Dad. No response, "Robert, this is important." A groan can be heard from the living room, and soon enough I heard him stomping up the stairs to my room. "Look at your daughter." She just stares in pure shock and awe. I keep the energy controlled in my hands, I don't want to hurt anyone. "What, what is she doing?" My Dad questioned, equally as shocked as my Mom.

Of course, Wyatt has to appear to be nosy as per usual. "Wow sis, how long have you been hiding that?" My Mom shakes her head, "she hasn't been, she just hasn't been able to summon it, it's harder for people like her." My Mom smiles at me and I stop summoning to hug her. "Hot, hot, your hands are hot." My Mom backs away laughing, I laugh as well. "Sorry," I chuckle, my Dad doesn't seem too excited anymore. He huffs and goes back to the living room to drink more. Wyatt and Mom are still obsessed. "Can I touch it?" Wyatt reaches out towards me, "No!" I yelp and back away, the energy faded. He draws back, "alright then, don't be weird." Eventually they go away and I call my friends.

-Timeskip-

"Okay guys, I gotta go, dinners ready and I don't want to be brutally murdered by my Mom, talk to you guys later!" I hang up the group call and slump in my bed. I didn't want to get up because I had finally gotten into a good spot. I get up and drag my feet into the kitchen and sit at our table. "Look who is here to join us, she's finally out of her room." My Mom jokes. All she gets is a 'hm' from my Dad and eating noises from Wyatt. "How long are you here Wyatt?" My Mom stabs at him, and he gulps down his food. "About a weekish, don't worry you won't have to deal with me for long." My Dad rolls his eyes, he looks like he was going to punch Wyatt, which I wouldn't be surprised if he did. "Good," I laugh, "you're annoying." We both laugh and my Mom shushes us to eat.

After dinner my Mom made some calls to her friends about me. I feel so special, I'm just worried people are going to swarm me at school. "I knew she had something! Yeah, no yeah this is awesome! Dangerous? I don't think she'll do any harm to anyone." She's so happy for me. I walk down to the living room and sit with my Dad and Wyatt. They were watching the news. There was a riot at the Obsidian Corps. That whole company is odd. It's run by Alexander Oswold, the only other purple alive.

"People are stupid! Why can't everyone just listen to what they're told to do and just go with it." My Dad's eyebrows furrow in frustration. Wyatt just laughs at him. "If only Dad, if only." He glares at Wyatt, "did I say something funny?" He gets out of the chair he was lounging in, "no Dad, I didn't." Wyatt tenses up, my Dad draws closer to him. "Dad stop, he didn't do anything." My Dad turns to me and just ignores what I said, he got right in Wyatt's face and towered over him. "You're drunk, stop, leave him alone." I attempt to pry in between the two of them, and my Dad shoved me aside. "Get out of my way." My Dad scoffs and his hand glows orange, he's going to hit Wyatt, hard. His hand raises and comes down and smacks Wyatt. That's going to be another scar on his arm from Dad.

My Mom overhears this and yells at Dad, "Robert! Stop! He did not do anything to deserve that treatment!" She rushes to Wyatt and comforts him, he's obviously going to be okay, but he's in a lot of pain. I just stood there, not knowing what to do, and I was accidentally staring at my Dad, he turned to me. "Feeling left out?" He shakes with anger, I didn't even do anything! "N-no sir, I'm fine." I lower my head, I just want to be small enough so he doesn't see me. "Staring is rude young lady." His hands glow brighter and he attempts to hit me with a beam of orange energy. I put my hands up, and to my surprise I created a purple glow and deflected his attack. I didn't know I could do that. He must've forgotten in the short time that I have powers now. He backed away and sighed, "I'm going out." Opening the door he glares at me, and slams it behind him.

"Are you okay sweetheart?" My Mom turned and faced me, Wyatt was still on the floor. "Y-yeah, that was just really scary. Is Wyatt okay?" "I'm fine!" He got up and made his way to his room to sulk. Him and Dad always clashed together and never got along. This is our normal. "I'm gonna go to bed, goodnight Mom." She said goodnight back and briefly hugged me. Sighing I open my door and gently close it behind me and fall onto my bed. It doesn't take long for sleep to overcome me.
