Chapter 13

Opening my front door to see my Dad sitting in his chair watching TV, a drink next to him. Typical. Hopefully Wyatt is with my Mom or asleep. "Emma?" Just kidding, he's home. "Wyatt? Why are you here? Are you skipping again?" He laughed, "no silly, I'm just here for dinner, I missed you guys." His eyes wandered to Emma, he looked her up and down. His eyes stopped at certain spots, it made me feel uncomfortable. "Hey Emma, I haven't seen you in awhile, how're you?" I could tell she was uncomfortable, "I'm fine, how're you?" She forced a smile, I wanted to retreat to my room with her. "I'm better now that you guys are here, well it was good to see you." What does that mean? 'Better now that you're here?' "Okay, we're gonna go to my room." We didn't run but our movement was quick to leave. We entered my room and shut the door behind us. "Finally, he's a creep." I sighed, but Emma pushed me against my wall. "I missed you Stephanie." She kissed my neck, then she looked into my eyes. I exhaled, "what's gotten into you? Was this your plan this entire time?" She smirked, "maybe." She continued, and not even two minutes later I didn't have clothes on.

"That was fun." Emma and I cuddled in my bed without clothes on. She giggled, "yeah, we should do that again soon." I loved being around her, she made me feel so safe. She hugged me tighter and nuzzled her face into my neck. "I love you so much, Emma."

"I love you too Stephanie."

I think Emma likes calling me Stephanie rather than Steph, it's cute. "Hey Steph? Do you have any plans tonight?" I could hear my Mom coming up the stairs and towards my room. "S***, s***, s***." I got up and went towards the door, Emma threw my clothes at me so I could put them on hopefully in time. "I don't think so Mom, I think I'm gonna stay home tonight." I pulled my shirt on and opened the door, Emma got her clothes on so we were safe.

"Why? Do you have plans?" She walked in, "Alexander Oswold wanted to meet with you, at Obsidian Corps." That's a big deal. "That sounds cool, what time?" Emma looked worried for some reason. "About five, it's four now so be ready." My Mom smiled and left the room. I turned back to Emma, she seemed off. "Should I go home now? Or later when you leave?" I hugged her and laid next to her, "please don't go yet, I wanna squeeze in as much time with you as I can."

Why did Alexander need to see me? Was there something wrong? I'm really worried but being with Emma is helping. I sat up and looked at her, "I'm scared." She sighed and rubbed my cheek. "Me too babe, me too. Do you have any idea of what could be happening?" I shook my head no, I'm in the dark. "It'll be okay, he's probably just going to run tests again and ask some questions. Nothing bad I bet." I smiled at her. "But when you came back home you were in pain! I'm really worried Stephanie!" Emma cried. She looked like she was about to start crying, last time wasn't that bad was it? I don't remember most of it.

Eventually after laying in my bed it got closer and closer to five. It seemed to go past faster than it should. "Stephanie! It's time to go!" Emma and I reluctantly got out of my bed, and left my room. "Be safe! Bye Emma." Wyatt winked at Emma, he's so gross. All three of us leave the house, and Emma gets in her car, I'm so scared. "He didn't really say what the meeting was about, but only that it was urgent." My Mom didn't seem worried, so it should be fine.

We start driving and soon I can see the dark buildings of the Obsidian Corps start to come into view. Everything about this company is secure. We had to go through three gates of security, and once in the main building I have to do scans to get in. My Mom had to stay in the waiting room, and I headed upstairs to go to Alexander's office.

"Emma! It's great to see you again! I need to discuss something with you, and ask you some questions..."
