Hues of Purple

Chapter 7

She kissed me. It was amazing. Ethan wasn't the best kisser, but I'm starting to think that Emma is. Her lips are so soft and taste amazing. Her skin was also soft and easy to touch. I didn't want it to end, but it did. "You okay?" Emma pulled away and asked. I felt like I was going to faint. "Can we do that again?" She laughed, "I never thought you'd ask me that if I'm completely honest."

She leans in again, but this time I don't hold back at all. This time it was different, I felt an electric current run through my body. It was stronger than it was before whenever Emma touched me. It felt amazing, I felt free, and felt powerful, I felt alive. As we kept kissing, my hands started feeling like pins and needles, but I didn't want to stop. I can feel my body getting warmer as the time passes.

Emma pulls away and gasps, "Stephanie! Look at your hands!" I'm still in shock but I slowly look down to see my hands emitting a dark purple color. I'm so confused. "What is this? What's happening to me?" Emma tries to touch my hand but it burns her. "Steph, I think you're a purple." There is no way, I mean both of my parents have abilities, and my brother Wyatt has abilities, but why did it take so long? Why now? "This actually makes sense. Since summoning purple energy is so difficult, its holders need a little boost to start. I guess I was your boost." That's true, "really? This night is the best ever!" When my hands cool down I almost tackle Emma and embrace her. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" I peck her on the cheek and smile. "I never thought Stephanie Clark would have a crush on me." Emma says laughing.

We decided to go back downstairs, but this time we were holding hands the whole time. Some people there called us gross, but we ignored them. We turned the corner to go into the living room and we spot Sophie and Grace. "Where have you guys been? Is everything okay?" Grace interrogated us, she thinks she's my second Mother. "Did you guys makeout?" Sophie asks nonchalantly, "Sophie! They did not-," "we did." Emma blurted. They looked at each other and looked back at us, I couldn't tell if they were confused or happy, or even both. I raised my hand a little to show them that we were holding hands. Now I could tell they were happy because they started squealing. I love my friends so much. "Oh my gosh! Is it official? Are you guys dating?" Grace questioned, and Sophie just said "say yes or ask each other right now."

I turn to Emma and ask, "Emma Wells, will you be my girlfriend?" She smiles and jumps into my arms, I feel a lot stronger now that I have my newfound abilities. "Yes! A thousand times yes!" We all laugh and just continue to hang out around the coffee table. "I've known since the start that Emma liked you Steph," Sophie says, "me too." Grace chimed in. I act surprised and appalled and say "Wow, some friends you are. Just kidding!" We laugh some more and just talk but we figure out what the time was and it was around two in the morning. "We should probably go, like now." Emma was the designated driver, but none of us drank so everything was chill. We are all very tired though, so this'll be fun.

Emma dropped Grace and Sophie off at their houses, we all live pretty close to each other, but Emma loves driving. "We could probably have a sleepover, if you want." Emma says touching my arm, even though we're technically dating now, the slightest touch feels like the first time it did something. "Yeah I'll text my parents so they know where I am, and it's not a school night so it should be fine." Emma smiles and kisses me.
