Hues of Purple

Chapter 12

Monday, February 21st

I've gotten so much better at controlling my powers. I'm now the only one in my power training class, Mr. Wilson became nervous to teach me new things. So, my second period is pretty much a study hall, or practice, I get to choose now. Ben and Mackenzie are upset that I can overpower them, but it's not like I'm showing off or anything.

The bell rings for lunch, so I got up and waved Mr. Wilson bye and left. Ever since Emma posted about my powers I've gotten more popular. I wouldn't say that I'm one of those mean girls, but it's cool to be known. That comes with having people that don't like you though, I have a 'hate club', that's what my friends and I call them. The 'club' consists of Ben, Mackenzie, Ethan, and Lacey. Speaking of, Lacey and Ethan are the most cringey couple known to man.

I walk into the cafeteria and I spot Grace and Emma sitting at our table. Grace seems to be upset. "I can't believe this has been circulating for so long! Stupid rumors!" I sat down, "what's going on?" Grace huffs, "stupid Ben is saying that we hooked up and is telling everyone that." I roll my eyes, "he wishes, it'll be okay don't worry. Actually, watch this." I turned in my seat and darted my eyes towards Ben's table, he was looking at us already so we locked eyes. I summoned a small ball of purple energy in my hand, and soon they all left out of fear. "All better, hopefully his rumor stops soon." Sophie and Anthony saw the situation happen and laughed as they came to the table. "He's all talk, that was hilarious," Sophie said between laughs. Emma takes my hand and kisses my cheek, "how're you today lovely?" I blushed, "I'm pretty good, you?" She smiled, I love her smile. "I'm good, I wanna go home though. Do you have plans for after school today?" I don't think I do, I can't think of anything. "I think I'm free, were you thinking of something?" She smirked, "wanna come over after school? Or maybe go to your house?" I thought it over, "my house, we haven't hung out there in awhile."

Biology breezes past, I couldn't stop thinking about Emma, I love her so much. It's been three months since we started dating. Everything about her is better than Ethan. Once the bell rang, I didn't speed out of class, but I didn't wait much. In the hallway I passed Ethan's girlfriend Lacey, she glared at me, I smiled at her and waved. Emma stood at the end of the hallway looking for me. I met up with her, kissed her on the cheek, and we walked out.

Emma is the best driver, but the school parking lot is scary. The new sophomores with their licenses, speeding, I'm glad I don't drive much. "What the f***! Learn how to drive!" Emma has some road rage, but it's okay. It freaks me out sometimes but I know she's not mad at me. "Sorry babe, if I scared you I didn't mean to." She put her right hand on my knees and did the thumb thing. Soon we pulled up to my house, but my Dad's car was in the driveway, along with my brothers. This is gonna be an experience.
