Chapter 5

Eventually, I let him go, but I wanted to be petty so I say to him, "are you upset because you forgot about our anniversary?" That definitely wasn't what was going on, because his face went so pale he was almost transparent. "What, no, today isn't our anniversary. What's today's date?" I look at him like he's stupid, "November 15th my love." He stands there for a minute, in shock. So I decided to walk away. But before I could get far enough away from him I hear a girl talking to him. Arguing with him. She isn't happy with whatever he did. I decide to stick around for just a little bit longer to witness what was about to go down.

"Who was that other girl? Are you cheating on me?" Other girl? Cheating? He never learned his lesson, he kept cheating. "No babe don't worry, she's just a friend of mine. We were supposed to hang out today but I forgot that's all." He's getting anxious, this whole situation is making me upset. Then she kisses him, that was the last straw. "Ethan!" I yell and he looks at me. He was caught like a deer in headlights. "Who is she?" The other girl asks, "I'm his girlfriend, I've been seeing him for two years now." She looks at him "You jerk!" She slaps him and walks away, "we're through!" She yelled as she left.

Ethan turned to face me, he was mad. He was also drunk, so it was worse. "What is wrong with you," he said to me, calmer than what I was expecting. "What do you mean? What did I do?" He was the one that was cheating, I did not do anything to him. "You f****** messed everything up!" Now he's yelling. What scared me was, he started summoning his energy, he was going to attack me. "I wish you never came here, I wish you'd just leave me alone!" His hands emitted an orange glow with sparks flicking around him. People stopped what they were doing to watch. "I wish you'd just prioritize me instead of hooking up with other girls! You couldn't have just remembered our anniversary." My voice falters, this hurts more than before. "You're so pathetic, why wouldn't I sleep with other girls? Maybe because they aren't powerless like you!" I just stand there, too stunned to speak. While I try to recover, Ethan is collecting more and more energy. This was going to hurt, bad. "Hey, Ethan, buddy, take it easy on the poor girl. You are in the wrong but be mature about it, it's the least you can do." Ethans friend puts a hand on his shoulder. "You don't know what you're talking about. Then Ethan smacks his friend, sending him falling about 5 feet away. He had a nasty orange burn on his face. I was next.

I got ready to be hit by Ethan, it wasn't the first time, but with his energy I could die. Suddenly as Ethan was about to strike me, a beam of controlled green electricity flies past me. It was Emma, she could overpower him easily, she's a cool color and he's a warm color. Ethan had already called his powers upon himself, otherwise he would be in agonizing pain right about now. Emma emerges from the kitchen, her hands full of green energy. Her eyes were a fierce blue, she was enraged. "Leave her alone! You have no right to be doing this!" Emma yelled and stepped in front of me. I was in absolute awe. "Let's take this outside then, shall we?" Ethan said angrily.
