Monday, November 17th

I woke up to my alarm, the weekend was so much I forgot school existed. I wish it didn't. Thankfully, I didn't get any calls from Ethan, he's not my alarm clock anymore. I still have the worst pain in my arm still. I don't need a bandage anymore, but it's still a big gash in my arm. It looked cool, it was a dark blue mark on my arm.

After getting dressed and ready, I leave my room for the kitchen. I saw my Dad passed out on the couch. I haven't seen him since yesterday night. I try to avoid him, which is easy because he's unconscious and hung over. I eat, say goodbye to my parents, and head out for the bus. The walk to the bus stop doesn't take long, so I'm there pretty quickly. The whole walk I was blasting music into my ears, who needs hearing? I figured I would be courteous and turn it down when I got on the bus. The song "Feel Good Inc." by Gorillaz plays, it's one of my favorite songs.

While mindlessly listening to my music, I think about how different I've been feeling, I feel free. That's not just because of Ethan being absent in my life now, I think it's because of my new abilities. That's actually a proven fact, people with abilities are faster, stronger, and overall just in better condition. Normies are fine, it's just that people like me have heightened abilities compared to them. It's really nice, because before I felt constantly drained and burnt out. Now I feel like I could run a marathon right now.

Once I got to school, I accidentally spotted Ethan and his friends. He's glaring at me, I don't remember doing anything to him, he needs to calm down. As I walked past, his new girlfriend situation showed up. It was a different girl from the party. What's interesting is that the girl looks like Mackenzie Price, Ben's 'partner in crime.' The girl that helped Ben attack me. My hand raises to my burn, the girl sees me and smirks. It was her!

I walk faster to the library, my friends aren't here yet, but I don't care, I just want to get out of here. In the library I was met with the usual posters of our black and purple dragon mascot. It's fitting because the school's name is Wavern high. It's one of the few schools in the state that accepts gifted students. Until you're eighteen, you can't summon outside of school. People do it anyway. And since we have sports with the other schools, you aren't allowed to summon when playing sports for the school. It's still not fair because even without using them, people with abilities are stronger and faster.

After a little while, Anthony walks into the library to sit with me. "Hey Steph! So Emma told me about you guys dating. I'm so happy for you! And she told me about your new powers, can I see?" He's very excited, it's funny. "Yeah, not a lot though because I don't know how to really use them yet." I cup my hands and create a very small purple orb within them. I also kept it small so other people don't see me doing it. I don't need the extra attention right now. "That's epic!" I shushed him, people started looking at me. "Yeah, but don't tell anyone because I really don't want people to know yet." He nods and sits down with me. His dark brown eyes look over me. "Did you start using a new skin care thingy? You're glowing." I laugh at him "no I'm not, you're just saying that to make me feel better about myself." Shaking his head he grabs his phone and shows me my face, like a mirror. I am glowing, I love having new powers.

Grace and Sophie show up, and after them Emma arrives. We gossip about the party and about Mackenzie and Ethan's new thing going on. "It's absolutely disgusting, even she could do better." I laugh, "do you guys know who that girl was at the party? I haven't seen her around school." No one answers, she must go to a different school. Suddenly the bell rings and it's time to start school.

A/N: I'm back! Sorry for the huge break, I'm working a lot and I've been writing when I can! Thanks for reading and waiting! <333
