Sitting in this hotel, mad as hell. Between King and the shenanigans he pulled with Mimi and what he just pulled with me on the phone, I'm so out done! I never thought my quiet brother would be on my bad side. Im ready to get this shit done so I can go be with my wife
"So what are we doing?" I asks a zoned out Shawn. We've been sitting here for two hours with no plans on what our next steps could be
"Nothing. Mimi is pissed at me right now Kamya." She says, adjusting herself on the bed and balling up like a child.
"Because you're sneaky as fuck, Shawnette. I'd be pissed too."
"Oh girl, please. We're both sneaky if that's the case."
"Man, shut up." I say laughing, knowing she's right, "but I mean how else could we make game plans without all of interruptions?" I ask
"Exactly. You and I both know it's nothing like that. You trynna talk to Terri, and I want to plan this trip for me and lil mama" Shawn smiles, looking down at her hand then bites her lip.
"What's wrong sista?" I asks, scooting close to her. She shakes her head and sighs.
"When my mom's passed, I wasn't able to feel happiness. It's like I felt absolutely nothing, ya feel me?" She looks at me and I nod my head yes, "even when I first started talking to your sister, I wasn't able fully commit myself. But her and that baby has broken me in and I thank God for them. I know that's not my biological son but it feels like it. I can't have kids, ya know? So the bond I share with him is so much more than just my girlfriend son, type of thing. That's really my boy" she says with a small smile. I hug Shawn as tight as I can. I know how it is to feel how she felt. It's not easy.
"You know we love you, Shawn. More than you know sis," I pull away from her and we look at one another, "thank you so much for being there for my sister when I couldn't be. And even bigger thank you for stepping up to the plate for Kamyle, Shawn. No matter where life may take you and Mimi, just remember you're our family regardless."
"Thank you Mya. I feel the same way about y'all." The two of us sit in silence for a minute, clearing our throats from potential cries.
"So, what's the vision?" I finally asks and Shawn shrugs
"I was thinking about having the resort decorate for us. But I need to know which resort would be more fitting for her." She says and pulls up a few more tabs on her web browser with additional options. See, this is why me and this lady been taking forever because every link up, she got something new.
"Shawnette Heard." Is all I can get out, as I grow obviously irritated
"Hey now sis, listen...hear me out. This one right here would be best fit for us," she hands me her iPad, "it's called the Divi Aruba and it's all inclusive. I've been looking at this one for a while now. I've just been holding off on showing you because it's further awa-"
"Girl fuck that, this is nice! Yes book it!" I say excitedly and continue to scroll through pictures "Mimi is gonna love it! O M G, shawn yes" from my peripheral I see Shawn blushing with a big smile on her face
"Ok, ok! I'm about to now. Now I'm all excited and shit sis! Oooo this is going to be the best surprise ever." She says and grabs the tablet from me. Looking into my purse, hesitate for a second then grab my credit card.
"Use my card to pay for the flights. It's the least I can do. Both of deserve it. I owe Mimi a push gift anyway" I hand her my Amex and Shawn looks to me in shock
"Huh? No, Mya. Im not gonna do that."
"Well, I'll just Apple Pay you some cash and buy it like that. But I'd rather you do it in my Amex so you two can enjoy the lounge access." I put the card in her hands and she just nods with no other words.
It feels good to do something for the ones I love.
