Three and Me

I was raised to believe love was a game for two
That only left room for me and you
But then you said we could make room for 3
And to that my love I have to disagree

You my love changed my world view
Together against the world just us two
But then we added and the discord was in me
Just me and you and he make three

I wanted so badly to be happy as things are
But I feel as though it pushes boundaries to far
There's nothing wrong with them to me
But you and me and he make three

The number that's uneven and unsharing
The part that leaves me wondering if either could be caring
Jealousy is among my ugliest of parts
It grabs and twists at my distrusting heart

I want to love you both as you deserve
But find I can't and my love can't serve
I want out but no clue where you see
Because you and me and he makes three
