Meanwhile, Dr. Eggman was in the Egg Carrier, hovering in the air through Christmas Island. He was desperately on the search for the three hedgehogs that were obtaining 'his' Chaos Emeralds. "I cannot believe those little brats!" Dr. Eggman said, referring to Shadow, Sonic and Silver. "Using the Chaos Emeralds, they were able to effortlessly break through my ship! The Emeralds are still in their possession. I just have to find them again!" His two robot minions Orbot and Cubot looked at each other. "The boss still thinks he stands a chance against those hedgehogs?" Cubot asked. "I guess so", Orbot replied. "You would think that after the millionth time of being humiliated and defeated by them that he would just give up. But the Doctor has always been a sore loser." Cubot smiled at Orbot. "Once a loser, always a loser", he laughed. Dr. Eggman slammed his fists against the dashboard of the Egg Carrier. "SHUT IT, YOU FOOLS!" He yelled. "HURRY UP AND MAKE YOURSELVES USEFUL! WE ARE NEARING CHRISTMAS ISLAND! KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THOSE HEDGEHOGS SO WE CAN FIND WHERE THEY'RE HIDING THE CHAOS EMERALDS!" "Whatever Doctor", Cubot replied as he and Orbot looked out the window for the hedgehogs. Dr. Eggman hovered closer to the island, and Orbot saw Shadow, Sonic, Silver, and Knuckles heading toward the hedgehogs' house. "There they are, Doctor", Cubot replied, pointing at the three hedgehogs. Dr. Eggman smiled and laughed to himself. "Finally", he said in a sinister voice. "This time I need to be quicker and sneakier in my approach. Orbot! Cubot! Make sure the robots I send out to get them ACTUALLY get them this time! If you mess this up, it's off to the dumpster with you!" Orbot and Cubot appeared to be scared. Dr. Eggman quickly pressed the button that deployed the orange robots from his ship, and the orange robots fell in the woods, heading straight for the hedgehogs' house. They started shooting shocking nets toward all three hedgehogs. Shadow was able to avoid the nets by teleporting and Sonic was able to avoid them by running. "This game of tag is too easy!" Sonic giggled and shouted. "In fact, it's the easiest game of tag I've ever played! Go to jail and eat your cheese already, Eggman!" Dr. Eggman growled and slammed his fists on the dashboard of the Egg Carrier again. "YOU WON'T GET AWAY WITH THIS, SONIC!" He shouted. "YOU'VE ASKED FOR THIS!" In that moment, Silver was running as fast as he could, trying to avoid the shocking nets, but he wasn't as fast as his brothers. Before he knew it, a net wrapped around his stomach and body, shocking him and hurting him badly. Silver started crying. "SHADOW! SONIC!" He shouted for his brothers. It was too late for him. A robot had taken Silver and quickly flew into the sky, landing him in the Egg Carrier. Sonic and Shadow looked over to see their brother being carried away into the sky. "SILVER, NO!" Sonic shouted as he and Shadow tried to reach their brother. While the two hedgehogs were distracted, Orbot and Cubot quickly broke into their house and were able to retrieve the Chaos Emeralds. "JACKPOT!" Cubot shouted as he and Orbot hovered back into the Egg Carrier. "LATER, LOSERS!" Dr. Eggman shouted at Shadow and Sonic as he flew far off into the distance. Sonic fell to his knees and made his face in his hands. "No!" He shouted while crying. "No, no, no!" Knuckles went to Sonic's level and started hugging him. Shadow's eyes lowered as he looked to the ground. "This time we weren't even using our super forms, and he was still able to take the Chaos Emeralds", he said very sadly. "He was able to use Silver as a distraction, and now we've lost him, too." Tears started forming in his eyes. "We have to tell Mommy and Daddy." "No!" Sonic shouted with teary eyes. "I don't want to get them involved and lose them, too! I'm not willing to put anyone else in danger!" Knuckles was still hugging Sonic, and Sonic returned the hug and continued crying. "There has to be something we can do." Knuckles said. "We just have to think logically and safely." He looked up to the sky in thought. "Try not to underestimate me", he said at last. "I am willing to do whatever I can to help you guys retrieve your brother."
