First, she had to leave her father so he could be safe.

Then her mother asked her to change the course of her journey just to get something she asked her for.

Finally, she is now walking under the rain away from a bus that's just been attacked by monster hags and blown up by lightning.

In a way, she thinks it's nice to know there are Greek gods out there because she has somebody to blame when things go wrong.

So there they were, the blonde girl, the weird kid, Percy, and Y/N walking in silence through the woods on the New Jersey riverbank, the glow of New York City making the night sky yellow behind them, the smell of the Hudson reeking in their noses.

The other boy was shivering and braying, his big eyes turned slit-pupilled and full of terror. "Three Kindly Ones. All three at once."

Y/N stared at the boy in some kind of disbelief and exclaimed, "Kindly Ones?! They were anything but kind."

They ignored her.

Again.

Y/N didn't know why she was still following them.

She could just leave them so she could continue her adventure, yet something inside told her that they knew where the Underworld was.

A yell brought Y/N back to reality: "Come on! The further away we get, the better."

"All our money was back there,' Percy reminded her. "Our food and clothes. Everything!"

Y/N felt guilty. She never thought of saving the kid's stuff in her bag.

"Well, maybe if you hadn't decided to jump into the fight -"

"What did you want me to do? Let you get killed?"

"You didn't need to protect me, Percy. I would've been fine."

"Sliced like sandwich bread, but fine." Y/N gave her a humble opinion, thinking they would ignore her one more time.

Yet again, her luck is incredibly awful.
