It wasn't anything important. The only thing she had to do was to keep an eye on the entrance to Tartarus that was in the Underworld.

Nothing difficult.

And definitely nothing too dangerous.

Two months after receiving Hestia's blessing, the goddess asked Y/N to spy for her. Y/N wasn't very fond of the idea. Hestia wasn't either but both thought it was a necessary task.

Jupiter and Echo accompanied her sometimes on her tasks and Y/N was grateful for it. She felt less compromised with the job. Besides, Echo was a great distraction and Jupiter was excellent at attacking if they ever got surprised by unwanted monsters.

Y/N also stopped training with her dark powers in the Underworld. Whatever happened during the previous winter changed Y/N's powers for good. Now she only had to perfect her ability to create more powerful stars. And her new power to create fire.

She assumed that power came with Hestia's blessing. Also, the fact that she became suddenly good at baking after she claimed her as champion. Which was weird since Y/N had a reputation for burning all the food she cooked or baked.

In any case, Y/N stopped spending time in the Underworld and more at camp and other places where she could see Hestia.

Not to mention that, since the Winter Solstice, neither Nyx nor her other family haven't talked to her at all. Not even in dreams. But just because they wouldn't appear there doesn't mean her dreams haven't stopped being nightmares.

Y/N couldn't stop dreaming about what she saw while carrying the sky. The same three paths and the same choice to make.

The choice was easy though. Y/N would choose Hestia's path. Even if her mother's path looked gorgeous.

And even if the mysterious and dark path was enticing and not helping Y/N's curiosity.

Having that dream over and over again was what made it a nightmare.

And that nightmare is what has kept Y/N awake and not being able to sleep for months.

Y/N knew she was slowly falling into a cycle of sleep deprivation, and as much help she was getting from her father, Y/N couldn't drop the bad habit of not sleeping. She and her father thought it might be because of her mother's affinity with the night that Y/N couldn't sleep. But just as she tends to keep secrets from her friends, she also avoids telling her father most of the things she's gone through as a demigod.
