[Rui POV]

"Well Nene, that's because (Y/N) has already been taken by someone else..." I let out a a melancholy laugh.

I could tell my revelation was quite unexpected to Nene. Her once playful smirk was now replaced with a look of pity and surprise.

"She is?! By who?! And how come I never heard of this?!" Seems (Y/N) never told Nene about any of this.

A sad smile formed as I sighed, "(Y/N) is dating Tsukasa, didn't she tell you?"

"With Tsukasa?! I have no idea what she could see in him." Nene pondered. "I'm sorry to hear about this, Rui. What are you going to do now?"

I noticed how Nene seemed worried about my wellbeing.

"I'll just take some time to reflect..."

...And plan my next course of action...

"You sure? I just don't want you to do something you might regret later..." Nene sighed.

"Don't worry about me, I'll be fine..." I plastered a fake smile on my lips.

I was sure Nene didn't believe me, but she didn't question me further.

We made it to our neighborhood.

Across from Nene's house was (Y/N's) old house that now belonged to an elderly couple.

Ah...the memories...

How we used to hangout out all three of us together until nightfall...

I still remember our first sleepover together...

We were probably around 8 years old, with the exception of me being 9...

We had stayed up all night watching musicals and giving each other small performances...

...And how we nearly blew up (Y/N's) house by putting a bunch of random objects into the microwave...

Such wonderful times...

I felt a pain in my heart as I continued to remember our past...

"Rui..."

As the wind blew, I felt a bit nostalgic...

"Rui?"

How I wish (Y/N) never left that day...

...or better yet...if I confessed sooner...

"Rui?!"

I was brought back to the present. If Nene wasn't worried before, she was now. Nene had a pained look on her face.

"I wish I could do more to help you..." Nene let out a shaky sigh.

I give Nene a quick hug.

"Don't worry Nene, I'll figure something out. Goodnight." I waved at Nene as she walked to her front door.

"Night..." She entered her house.

I made my way towards my own home and went inside. As I entered my room, I sat down on a chair and lost myself in my thoughts.

How could I get (Y/N) to love me back?
