Ch:1 Shes Awake

UNKNOWN POV:

"Subject number zero is under quarantine". On the other end of the phone my boss said "Ok. Make sure she is secured tightly. I heard this one is feisty". "No problem sir".

I hung the phone up then I looked over at Johnson, my scientist co-worker. I asked "how are her vitals?". He looked at the monitor then said "all over the place. Her human side and infected side arent resting. She is trying to wake herself up".

I asked "Should we up the dosage on her medication?". He shook his head then said "let het wake up. We have lots to ask her".

We opened the door and walked down the steps to her chamber. We looked through the see through glass and observed her.

Her eyes were moving crazily under her eyelids. Her breathing was erratic. Her heart rate was through the roof.

Without warning her eyes snapped open. They were yellowish with her green pupils and blood spots everywhere. She stared at us with terror in her eyes.

She looked at herself then she screamed. It made my heart jump, but I didnt show her my fear. I got out a pen and started to write notes down on my clip board:

Patient is awake now. She is full of energy. Very aggressive. Heart rate is high and climbing. Eyes are discolored. Skin is pale and bruised.

I looked over at Johnson then I said "lets see if she can still talk". I pressed a small red button and began to speak. "Hello sweetie. Don't be alarmed. You need to stay calm".

She looked at me then asked "W...Where am I?". I said "you are in a laboratory in Washington DC. You are a major break through and we could use you".

She asked "where is the rest of my group?". I said "they are under quarantine in another section of the Lab".

Johnson asked "how are you feeling?". She said "well I was shot then I wake up in a glass container. Id say Im just having a fucking great day".

I looked over at Johnson then I said "let me talk to her. Take a blood sample then send it to testing". He nodded then he said "ok. Let me suit up".

She watched him as he walked over and put a Hazard suit on. He walked bak over and opened the door. He pulled out a needle and she freaked.

She pulled on her restraints and thrashed around. I pressed the button again then I said "hold still or it will hurt a lot worse". She stopped and let him get closer.

Johnson put the needle in her arm then he took some blood. She shifted in the restraints then she gave me a stare. It was like she was terrified, yet she was trying to be strong.

Right after Johnson was finished she swatted at him and hit his mask. I stepped back as he quickly rushed out of the glass chamber.

He looked back at her and she started to cough. Blood started to hit the glass so I looked back at him and I said "hurry with the testing".

He nodded then rushed over to the testing section of the lab. I walked closer and asked her "what do you want"? She said "my group". I sighed then said "I told you, they are in quarantine".

Tears rolled down her face then she let her head droop down. I walked away from the glass chamber and I walked back up the steps.

I walked back into the Main hub and I slumped back in the chair. I tied my hair in a bun then I looked in the mirror. My eyes were blood shot from staying up for over a day straight. My eye liner wore off and my lipstick as faded.

I closed my eyes and relaxed. I was going to catch some shut eye just until Johnson came back with the test results. He should be back any...minute...now.

SHELBY'S POV:

I thought I was dead. Well... Until I opened my eyes. I was locked up in a glass tank and there were people looking at me. I looked at myself then I let out a scream. I looked back up and looked at the two people standing in front of me.

A lady with blonde hair, bright blue eyes, glasses, and red lipstick was writing stuff down on a notepad. All of a sudden I heard her voice. She said "Hello sweetie. Dont be alarmed. You need to stay calm".

How the fuck could I be calm right now? Im locked up in a damn glass tank. I looked up at her and I asked "W...Where am I?". The lady said "you are in a laboratory in Washington DC. You are a major break through and we could use you".

Use me for what?! I asked "where is the rest of my group?". She said "they are under quarantine in another section of the Lab". Oh shit... I have to bust out of here and rescue them.

The guy next to her asked "how are you feeling?". I tried being smart so I said "well I was shot then I wake up in a glass container. Id say Im just having a fucking great day".

The voices stopped yet I could still see their lips moving. Te guy walked over and started to out a yellow Hazard suit on. What the fuck was he doing? He better not touch me.

He slowly walked back over and picked something up off of a silver tray. I took a look and it was a needle. Oh shit... No nobody is touching me. I pulled on my restraints and I tried to free myself.

The lady pressed a button and I heard her voice. She said "hold still or it will hurt a lot worse". I stopped fighting and let him get closer.

I let the guy take some of my blood but as soon as he was done I pulled on my restraints and hit his mask. The lady quickly stepped back as the guy rushed out of the glads chamber.

I felt so weird then all of a sudden I was throwing up blood. The whole front of the glass window was covered and I couldn't see anything.

I needed a plan if I was going to get out of here and find my group. My thoughts were interrupted when my stomach started to rumble. I was so hungry...hungry for...tasty flesh. Oh no this isnt good...
