Chapter: 20 Recruit

JOHNSON'S POV:

I looked around and smirked. I turned on the light then I said "well, well, well, look who we have here". Daryl, Andy, Chase, and Kiley all turned towards me at the same time. Looks of terror sweeped across their faces.

Daryl asked "where is Shelby? What did you do with her?". I said "we are trying to find her. It will be a lot easier now. Guards, tie them up and take them to the special chambers". I stepped aside while the guards grabbed them all. They tied them all up then took them out of the room.

We walked down the hallway looking very carefully for any sign of Shelby. I was disappointed when we made it to the chamber without seeing her. I put that emotion aside because I knew I would catch Shelby with the plan I came up with.

SHELBY'S POV:

A guy just like me was standing in front of me. He held out his hand so I took it. He pulled me up then he hugged me. He whispered "I know your scared and I know you want everything to end, but you are so much more important than you think. We can save the world. We are the cure".

I asked "how did you know my name? How did you become like me?". He smiled and said "Im Dustin. Im
Johnson's little brother".

As soon as he said that I stepped back and pointed my gun at him. He put his hands up then he said "I hate that bastard just as much as you do. He made me into this...thing. He made walkers bite me countless times. He would stick millions of needles in me trying to balance my human cells with the infected cells. He did this to me and I want revenge, but I cant do this alone".

I said "I'll help you get revenge". He hugged me again then thanked me. I asked "so can you control the walkers as well?". He smirked as a few walkers came into the room. After the walkers surrounded us he asked "does that answer your question princess?". I blushes then said "yes it does".

I used my control to send them out of the room. He said "we need to recruit the fast infected, the ones Johnson created. We will be able to defeat him with a good strategy. I smiled and said "strategy is one of my specialties".

I was about to go find the walkers Johnson created, but Dustin quickly grabbed my arm. He said "we need to be careful. They don't listen as well as the regular infected do. They are out if control". I smirked then said "well, looks like things will get interesting then".

Dustin let go of my arm and followed me down the hallway. I thought for a second then I said "the walkers that were tested on are smart. They wouldn't be walking around in plain sight... They would be somewhere concealed so they could use sneak attacks". I looked up then I said "bingo".

I told Dustin to come over and give me a boost. He did as he want told and boosted me up. With my strength I was given after being bit I pried the vent cover off then slid it into the vent. I hoisted myself up then I helped Dustin up.

Both of our eyes started to glow yellow as we looked at each other. I guess they automatically change in darkness. It was so weird. It felt like I was looking through a pair of night vision goggles. Everything was that green color.

As we walked through the vents we saw trails of blood and flesh. Groans, moans, and screeches echoed through the vents. I said "we are close. Get ready".

I rounded a corner and saw a big nasty looking walker. His stomach was swollen and his muscles were outrageous. He looked at us and a deep yell escaped his mouth, along with blood and bits of flesh that were stuck in his razor sharp teeth.

He walked towards us and took a long whiff of our scents. I walked closer, but Dustin stepped in front of me. He tried to communicate, but the walker wanted nothing to do with him. He swung his gigantic hand sending Dustin behind me and denting the side of the vent.

I rolled my eyes then I stepped forward. I said "HEY. LISTEN TO ME NOW". The walker took a step back not expecting me to yell at it like that. I continued and said "bad people are trying to hurt me and my friends. Your creator, the one that made you who you are, is alive and we want him dead. We need an army to fight against him. Will you help us? We really need you".

The Walker groaned again and it sounded like he said yes so I smiled and said "thank you. We need to recruit more test subject walkers. Go find some. Dustin and I will look elsewhere". He nodded and started to walk away but I quickly asked "hey do you have a name?". The walker turned towards me and said clear as day "boomer". I smiled and said "Im shelby". He nodded then walked away to find more to recruit.

I walked over to Dustin and helped him up. He said "wow, you must have pretty big balls to do what you just did". I laughed then said "I guess I have the bigger dick too". He said "now wait just a minute". I laughed then grabbed his hand. I said "cmon we need to find more".
