"Remember, Aria," L said, his gaze hard and serious. They were in the makeshift command center of their new base, a map of the city spread out before them with various points of interest marked. "If things go south... if it looks like we can't win... I want you to get out of the country. Go somewhere safe."Aria protested, "L, I can't just leave you--"
L interrupted her firmly, "This is non-negotiable, Aria. I need to know that you're safe. And if we fail... you might be the world's last hope against Kira."
Aria looked into L's eyes, the gravity of the situation sinking in. She nodded, swallowing hard. "Alright, L. If it comes to that... I'll do as you say."
With a small, relieved smile, L turned back to the map. His fingers traced the locations of Kira Corps' known facilities. His mind was already deep in thought, planning their next move. The war against Kira was about to begin, and L was preparing for the battle of his life.
Their plan was to infiltrate Kira Corps' main facility. It was a tall order, even for L, but they had no other choice. Aria, with her ability to blend in with the crowd, was tasked with getting inside and sabotaging the security system. The rest of the team would create a distraction, giving Aria the opportunity to complete her task.
As the night fell, they put their plan into action. The team moved in unison, like a well-oiled machine. Aria, with a disguise and a fake ID, slipped past the security guards at the entrance. Once inside, she made her way to the security room, relying on the map she had memorized.
Meanwhile, the rest of the team initiated the distraction - a simulated power outage on the other side of the city that diverted Kira Corps' resources away from their main facility.
With the guards and technicians distracted, Aria was able to get into the security room unnoticed. She quickly disabled the internal surveillance system, plunging the facility into darkness. Now, the team could move freely without being detected.
As Aria made her way to rendezvous with L, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. It was too easy, almost as if they were expected...
Suddenly, a red light flashed on the wall, indicating an incoming message. It was from L. "Abort the mission," it read, "It's a trap."
But it was too late. The doors to the facility were already closing, and they were locked inside.
With the facility in lockdown, the team was forced to split up. L, realizing he needed to buy time for Aria and the rest, opted to go towards the more dangerous path. As he moved stealthily, he turned a corner only to come face-to-face with Mello.
Mello, with a smirk on his face, stepped towards L. "I've been waiting for this moment, L. Time to end this," he said, pulling a piece of the God Note from his pocket.
Meanwhile, Aria found herself in a completely different situation. As she was making her way through the labyrinth of corridors, she ran into Misa. It was a shocking reunion, to say the least. Misa, who had been nursing a grudge since their last encounter, was eager for a rematch.
"I didn't get to finish you off last time, but I won't make that mistake again," Misa hissed, advancing on Aria.
With their backs against the wall, both L and Aria had no choice but to face their opponents head-on. The stakes had never been higher, but they were prepared to do whatever it took to stop Kira.
Misa and Aria faced off in the dim corridor, their faces illuminated by the flickering overhead lights.
"I'm not the same person you messed with last time, Misa," Aria warned, her voice steady despite her pounding heart.
"I'm counting on it," Misa retorted, grinning maliciously. "I do love a challenge."
Misa lunged towards Aria, but the latter sidestepped, retaliating with a swift punch to Misa's stomach. Misa recoiled, but recovered quickly, retaliating with a powerful kick.
Their fight was brutal, the sound of their blows echoing through the silent hallways. But Aria was fueled by her desire to bring Kira down, and Misa... Misa was motivated by her loyalty to Light.
In the end, it was Aria's determination that won out. With a final, forceful push, she sent Misa crashing into a wall. Misa slumped to the ground, unconscious.
Aria stood over her fallen opponent, breathing heavily. She felt a mix of relief and regret. Misa was misguided, but Aria knew she wasn't truly evil.
"I'm sorry," she said quietly, before turning away and continuing on her mission.
Just as Aria turned around, a sudden force hit her from the side, sending her sprawling onto the hard concrete floor. She barely had time to register what was happening before a wave of darkness crashed over her, dragging her into unconsciousness.
When she came to, she found herself staring up at the cold, smirking face of Teru Mikami.
"I always knew you were a loose end that needed tying up," he said, his voice dripping with satisfaction. "It's a shame it had to come to this."
Aria tried to move, but found her limbs wouldn't obey her. She felt a sharp pain in her head and realized she must have hit it when she fell. She could only glare up at Teru as he turned to leave.
"Don't worry," he said over his shoulder, his voice echoing in the large, empty room. "You won't be alone for long. L will be joining you soon enough."
And with that, he left, leaving Aria alone with her thoughts and the impending sense of dread that something terrible was about to happen.
