Mia's POV
Today was one of the few days I had for this "business trip" with nothing to do and I wasn't glad about it. Because 1) there was nothing to do; 2) it makes me overthink about Alex and why he hasn't contacted me for two damn weeks and it was triggering so much emotions I've tucked in the farthest place in me where no one can find but apparently Alex seems to be letting it out unconciously.I sipped on my iced tea as I close the magazine I was reading. I was currently in the lounge of the hotel trying to 'chill'.
I was about to stand and leave the place when my phone, which was on the table, started vibrating. I quickly picked it up and answered it as the name Brooke King flashed.
"Mia Wilson." I said trying not sound like I was nervous or eager to hear from her.
"Hey Mia, I just wanted to update you about some new work that just came in and is waiting for you to get back. It's just editing though don't worry. And about the photoshoot for Alexander? You're taking it right?"
"Yes I am."
I wanted to ask her so bad how he was and how their meeting two weeks ago went.
"Alright then I'll tell the board that you have just confirmed it for the second time so they'd stop overthinking about who will handle it." I can feel her roll her eyes from the other line as she chuckled which made me chuckle as well.
"And lastly, the day after you get back, it's the anniversary of Elite so of course you're required to attend. Will you bring a plus one? And about your dress well just let me know where I'll pick it up if you need someone too, and Tricia the head's assistant told me to tell you to prepare a speech. That's it." She said inhaling as she finished her sentence.
I giggled replying, "I'm going to bring a plus one and the dress I'll take care of it and okay."
"Good, well that's all, anything you wanna ask about around here? Latest gossip??"
How did your meeting with Alex went? How is he? Does he call you to check up on me? Does he miss me?
"Nope. That's all." I said sighing as I decided I won't ask anymore.
I mean it could offend her because she might think I accuse her of something they're not doing.
"Alright then! See you soon and don't forget to bring me goodies from Europe! Oh wait I gotta go Lunch break. Bye!" She hangs up leaving me to think about the answers to my unspoken questions.
I kept my phone in my pocket as I lean back on my seat and massage my temples. Why was this even stressing me?
The presence of someone standing beside me made me look up.
"What?" I asked as he offers his hand to me.
He just looks at me with a raised eyebrow, and urges me to take his hand.
"Are you mute?" No reply.
I roll my eyes and take his hand. He leads me outside of he hotel and opens the passenger door for me.
"Where are we going?"
"You ask too many questions can you just go inside?" He rolls his eyes as he waited for me to come in.
