Chapter 7

Mizuki's POV
It's been a week since I last saw Zero that night. Every time we pass by one another we look at one another but look away. No words. No more than a few minutes. I've been doing job after job so today I have the day off. There's a shelter near by so I'm making cookies for them. Finally finished I smiled and walked to my room. Just got to get my key. Walking to my room I set the basket on my bed and searched around for my keys. Sighing I stood up from looking under my bed. Where else could I have put my key? I'm so confused...
A knock was heard as I walked to the door.
"Zero?" he smiled faintly as he picked a small black box off the floor.
"I was hoping I could just leave this here for you but..." I looked down
"But I opened the door...I'm sorry" he shook his head as I looked back to him
"It's fine...uh...here" he extended out his hand to me that held the small box

"Do you want me to open it?" he nodded
"Okay..."I said lightly as I opened it a silver bracelet glimmered in the light
"It's beautiful"
"It's an early Christmas gift...since it's 5 days away" I smiled and looked up at him
"Thank you so much Zero" he gave me a slight smile
"Your welcome...are you doing anything today?" I looked back to my cookie basket
"Well I made cookies for the kids so I was going to head to the shelter.." he smiled
"That's so sweet of you....do you want me to take you?" my eyes widened as I looked up at him
"Take me....?" he put his hands up in defense
"Woah uh not like that...and if you don't want me to come I won't" I smiled and nodded
"Yes I would like it if you come with me" he nodded and picked up the basket
"Come on" he said as he extended out his left hand. Hesitantly I held his hand as our fingers intertwined.

"Ai! Chiyo! Daisuke!" the care taker said calling the rest of the kids down
"Yes ma'am" they all said as she smiled
"We have a young couple visiting us today." I looked down at our hands and blushed. Why does he make me feel this way?
"I want you to treat them with respect during their visit you understand?" they all nodded
"Yes Sensei" I smiled
"Hi kids...." they all waved
"Hi!"
"Today I brought you all a book that I was told you all have been wanting to read" they sat eagerly as I smiled opening the book
"One day the sky was red and orange. The young boy wanted to find a flower for his mother..."

They all clapped as I smiled at them eating the cookies with their glass of milk.
"I loved that story!"
"I like it when he fights the dragon with a sword!"
"When he finds the frog and he dances with him!"
I felt so happy inside that all the bad stuff I know I have to do soon fades away. My job...it is wrong but I have a debt to pay. A debt that if I didn't pay..wouldn't just take away my source of money. I'd be put in danger from the enemies I've made because of my job. Most of all the disgrace I'd put upon myself since I owe it to Wakahisa Raiden. Seeing Zero playing with the kids I smiled as he made funny faces. Laughing lightly he looked over to me and smiled.

"Well I thank you both greatly the children really did have fun. I hope that you two visit us again soon" I nodded
"I'm sure I will" she smiled and did a bow respectfully. We walked out and stayed with distance between us.
"So uh...what'd you want to do?" I said awkwardly being lost of what to say
"Oh I wanted to show you a place...but first we need to go back to the academy" I nodded
"Okay" we walked back to the academy in a few minutes as we just talked about our week. Now we're in the room I was in the first time I came here.
"Just wait right here..." he said nervously as I smiled nodding
"Okay I'll be here" he smiled and walked off as I stayed sitting on the couch
"Aww my Luna you're making my heart hurt so very much..." I heard as I turned to my right as Kaname's arm wrapped around my waist
"What are you..."
"You said yes to Zero? To take you?" I froze as his hot breath hit my ear
"That's not fair" I frowned
"Kaname leave me al-" he pushed me quickly yet gently with him on top of me.
"Kaname stop-" I suddenly couldn't speak as I was lost in his eyes.
"Luna when you fall asleep tonight you will wake up to hate Zero Kiryu."
My vision blurred and my ears rang as both came back I couldn't remember anything. Who was that? What did he say?
"Tsuki" I turned around and Zero came with a basket
"I just needed to grab the food I made.." I smiled
"Kiryu" he chuckled as I got up
"Do I need to get anything?" he shook his head
"No I'm sure this is everything we'll need where we're going" I nodded as I followed him outside.

"Wow!! I haven't been to a beach in years!" I said happily jumping around he laughed lightly to himself yet I heard him over the waves
"Really?" I nodded
"Yeah I used to bring my...brothers.." tears filled my eyes but I fought them back. I've been showing him several emotions that I shouldn't show but I can't show tears...weakness.
"I don't think this is the ideal place for heels though.." I said as I replaced my sadness with joy of being here. I am happy that I'm able to see a beach again but...there's so many memories.
"We're going through here, I'll help you" there was a hole with a blue light shining from it. When we walked through I was left in awe.
"It's so....beautiful" I said as Zero gently pulled my hand guiding me.
"Tsuki" I looked at him as he had a cute arrangement out.
"Did you make this?" he nodded as I smiled
"Thank you"

We laughed together as I was completely and genuinely happy. I haven't felt this way since I was a child.
"Kiryu...." he looked at me
"Yes?" I blushed
"Can I call you Zero or are you still-" he wrapped his arms around me and I was left speechless.
"Yes, Mizuki" I've always been iffy about my name but...I like it when he says it.
"I should get you home now..."I nodded as we packed up and started walking. He helped me out of the tube again, even though I don't have any problems with getting out I don't mind him helping...its sweet. We walked back to the academy and a long goodbye hug as he left me in my room. I sighed and went to go take a shower.

For some reason I keep telling myself not to fall asleep. My eyes are getting really heavy and it's getting harder to keep them open. Go to sleep Luna. A soothing piano sound surrounded me as I felt like I was in a cloud. My whole body calmed down and I felt my eyes close. Wait no..I can't...fall...asleep.
