She started to clean and wrap his side, freckles and scars decorated his skin, and everything her fingers made contact with pulsed. His body had electro flowing through it, the muscles twitched as she worked.

"What happened?" Faith questioned, her fingers finishing off the tie.

"Tsaritsa's orders to get Moraxs Gnosis, it wasn't in the exuvia, I'm not sure where it is" Childe explained.

"I want to know what injured you like this" She replied as he turned away from her.

"That traveller is good, I could've killed him, he got some good hits in" Childe sighed, resting his head forward.

"So he's the reason there's black running through your veins?"

"What?" He whipped his head around.

"You'll be fine, it's just very concentrated electro, your muscles will twitch and you might feel a bit numb" Faith muttered, placing gauze then a bandage.

"Okay," Childe rested again as the girl worked bandages around his chest and back.

"Don't use whatever you used to get the upper hand, if that elemental power keeps growing it won't end well for you" Faith mentioned, standing and putting back the medkit.

"Foul legacy, you might end up with one"

"Hmm" She went back to the food "You can sleep in my room, I'll sleep in my parents"

"Where are your parents?"

"Home"

He nodded, she didn't see the gesture"

"Hey the rain stopped"

The room had started to light up, the late sun shining through the tall windows.

"I told you the city would be safe"

Faith didn't turn around, she couldn't think. Her brain felt numb and her limbs felt slow.

"Are you listening?" Childe was behind her, his hand on her back.

She gagged and pushed him away, Faith ran to the bathroom and vomited up all the contents of her stomach. Tears pricked her eyes and her throat ached.

"You could've just told me you don't like physical contact," Childe joked from the doorway.

She huffed over the toilet, her head in her hands. Her brain felt clearer, her body twitched, and her heart raced.

Childe placed a hand on her back as he sat down next to her, it stroked her back slowly as she heaved.

She grumbled and rubbed her eyes, turning to him.

"Take dinner off the stove please" Faith whispered.

He nodded and left her.

She stood weakly and flushed the toilet, her hand placed against the wall to support herself. Faith stumbled into the kitchen and leaned against the counter. Her head spun a little.

"Come here" Childe beckoned, he placed the pot on a cutting board.

She inched around the counter, he stood behind her and linked his hands around her waist.

"Lean back into me, I'll keep you up while you finish the meal" And with that she did, Faith's body sunk into his as she worked.

A few minutes later her voice piped up, "It's done and I'm feeling a little better" Childe's hands let go as he stood back.

She grabbed two bowls from a cupboard and filled them with the soup. Childe sat down and watched Faith move. She placed down his serving and handed him a spoon, then did the same for herself.

"What is this?" He asked, an eyebrow perking as he examined his spoon.

"It's lotus seed and bird egg soup, it's good, nothing like the food at home" Faith replied, swallowing her spoonful.

Childe took a small sip and swallowed. Then picked up another and slurped it eagerly.

"This is good! You're a good cook girlie" He grinned.

She looked at him through her eyebrows, "What did you just call me?"

"Girlie? It's a nickname I use for girls I know, guess I didn't use it for you because you're a harbinger" He explained, a happy look on his face.

"Well, it's better than comrade" Faith mumbled.

"You know what we should do when we get home, we should fight"

"And whys that?"

"I know you can kill deer, but that's nothing compared to a human"

"I've killed before"

"Really?"

"I was 16 at the time, I was hunting with my younger brother when a man came at us, he was about to swing his sword at my brother when I struck him in the side" Faith discussed "I nearly sliced him clean in half" She brought her head up and met Childe's eyes.

They glimmered in the light.

"That's amazing, it takes a lot of strength to do that, especially at sixteen"

"I'm not proud of it but it was to protect my brother, I don't know if I'd still be here without him" She breathed out.

"I have siblings too, two brothers and a sister"

"Tell me about them"

And he did, he told stories of the children, he talked about how much Teucer loved ruin guards, Antons' theories on the people of Liyue and Tonia's love for fantasy.
