The pair made it to the monitor room without further delay, grateful to God they didn't have to cross anymore disgusting sewage. Leon was still a little weak, but he told Kelly he was well enough to move around. She was a tad bit worried he might be nauseous later, however, Kelly knew he'd push through it. Ada needed them right now, even though she didn't quite trust her completely.

With their missing chess pieces, they can solve the puzzle. While Leon examined the power panels containing different plugs, Kelly read over a note pinned to the bulletin board above the table. But, like everything else, it spoke in a riddle.

"Pretty sure the rook and knight are on the same wall and the bishop and queen aren't next to each other. The queen and rook were opposite each other, too."

Kelly bit the inside of her cheek. She scanned the note again, attempting to make sense of it. She only drew a blank in the end.

"Why can't people be straightforward with their answers instead of making us solve all these clues like we're playing Chain Reaction? It makes no damn sense!" Kelly said irritably.

Leon's mouth turned itself upward to form a little grin. He looked over her shoulder, reading the paper for himself. Unlike the detective, he seemed to have it figured out.

"Oh. I think I got it."

Kelly watched him go around the room, putting the plugs into the sockets effortlessly. When he plugged in the bishop last, the mechanical door unlocked, swinging open to let them through. Her eyebrows shot up, her lips parted slightly.

"How did you figure that out?" She asked in awe.

Leon shrugged. "I don't know. It looked easy."

Her own smile crept onto her face, an amusing thought planting itself into her brain. Leon could see what she was picturing, and confirmed his answer.

"I wasn't in a chess program in high school if that's what you're wondering," he stated. "And this stupid shit we're doing is completely irrelevant to the game."

"Oh, I know that. My only thing is, what would you look like in a cashmere sweater?" Her index finger and thumb framed her chin, looking him up and down as her brows furrowed together.

Leon rolled his eyes, elbowing her lightly while Kelly broke her facade, grinning proudly.

"You're annoying," he commented, adding his own smile. "Come on. Let's get to Ada."
