"I look ridiculous."
I glare at my reflection in the mirror and the absurd costume Lennon and Imogen somehow convinced me to put on. Ogre ears are poking out of either side of my head, a green leotard the only thing covering me, as well as fishnets and sky high boots. When I gave Lennon and Imogen free rein to chose our halloween costumes this year due to my busy schedule, I never thought they would decide sexy Shrek was my best option.
Lennon continues washing her hands in the club bathroom as she chuckles, "Oh shut up, you look great."
I turn to her with a raised brow, "Says the girl that's dressed as princess Fiona."
Of course, it was a slutty princess Fiona. The dress she's wearing ends right below her butt, barely covering anything as her boobs nearly fall out of the top. She used colored hairspray to make herself a redhead, and has a crown bobby-pinned onto the top of her head.
"Only because it was easier for me to go ginger," She scoffs.
Imogen looks completely unfazed as she comes out of the stall in her sexy donkey get up. How one is able to make a donkey look hot, I have no idea, but Imogen was able to pull it off in a similar outfit to myself in grey, with donkey ears on the top of her head.
Imogen grabs the tail that's attached to the back of her leotard, swinging it around, "I'm loving this. We look just crazy enough that no men have bothered us."
I chuckle. She's right, with all the other girls in much more normal costumes, we've been getting avoided which is a relief. I know that Declan and I aren't necessarily exclusive, but I don't want attention from anyone else, and I'm pretty sure he feels the same way about me. At least, I hope he does.
We leave the bathroom and make our way toward the bar, each of us getting a drink. With my usual in hand, the three of us make our way back to the dance floor. Letting my hips sway to the bass pounding through the speakers, I continue sipping my drink, enjoying my friends company as we dance in a circle together until I take my final sip.
With even more liquid courage now pumping through my veins, I move more loosely, no longer stiff like all my ballerina training taught me to bee. I start to feel hands close over my waist, and I'm about to elbow them off of me until I hear a familiar whisper in my ear.
"'Shrek looks hot' are words I never though would come out of my mouth."
I twist around to see Declan grinning down at me before leaning down to leave a quick kiss on my lips.
"You know what they say, never say never."
I stretch up and wrap my arms around his neck in a hug, Declan quickly following suit by closing his around my waist and tugging me close to him. He kisses my cheek before whispering in my ear.
"I missed you."
I chuckle, "You just saw me the other day."
"Doesn't matter, I always miss you."
