Chapter 4 : The Snake and the Eagle Part 2

"I'm afraid we'll have to spread out even more," Theodred expressed unhappily. "From now on there will only be one in command per patrol, so we will cover more territory. " The rest who were not there began to get on their nerves and cause an commotion among the captains after hearing this.

"It's too risky."

"At this rate the orcs will step on our feet!."

"And who will then defend the rest of the regions!?"

Elion couldn't believe what he was hearing, but what worried him most was Eowyn's reaction, who looked quite fearful. After seeing this, Elion hit the floor with his spear several times to stop the commotion.

"People of Rohan ,you have to stop NOW!!!" Elion raised his voice quite a bit; after seeing the authority his voice commanded, the hall relaxed, although it was still tense.

Theodred fixed his gaze on Elion and nodded his head in thanks for his support. "I know this may bring great trouble,but if we let a single group of orcs or savages enter Rohan then we will no longer have a way to control it". He began to group all the commanders together and began to assign them by areas throughout the region with the map of the hall.

"Cousin,is there anything I can do about all this?" Eowyn,despite everything ,was willing to help in any way she could.

"Believe me Eowyn,with all that you do is more than enough,and I thank you very much,but if you care too much ,we will need backup in the stables for the departure of the patrols."

After hearing that from the prince, Eowyn had a morale boost, she felt quite useful and had the support of the citizens as well.

After a while, there were a few captains and commanders left, among them, Elion.

"Elion, you will be assigned to the southeast, near Fargorn Forest. We must check if there is no strange activity in the forest." Ordered the prince. "Understood your majesty, I will leave immediately" Elion understood the order and prepared to leave. ........ But deep down someone was hiding and had discovered his opportunity.

"It seems that the pressure in Rohan has paid off Saruman" Grima was now in Isengard, the tower of the White Wizard. "At this rate there will be no defenses in any town in the land."

"It seems that your efforts are paying off, in spite of your intentions." Saruman has been plotting against Rohan for some time now, and little by little he has managed to acquire the power to invade Middle-earth, and even Mordor and the dark lord. Grima on the other hand was waiting to make a peculiar request to Saruman."Now that our work is paying off, there is a request I would like to make." Grima was being careful with the words he used, and especially the tone he used. "And what could you possibly need now that would require my attention? Or why I would even listen to you?" Saruman turned to fix his gaze on Grima,as it was not something peculiar.

"There is a horse lord I am interested in..... disappear from my sight."

Saruman was curious about all this; it was unusual for Grima to dare to ask something of the White Wizard, especially something this specific. Then Saruman slowly approached Grima, causing him to corner himself against a wall. Grima expected punishment for such daring, but it was not to be.

"And what treat will I grant you just this once?".....

Meanwhile, the patrols were already getting ready in the stable; everyone was focused on their horses, while Eowyn helped Elion get ready for the patrol.

"Are you sure you'll be all right? I don't want you to get careless" This time Eowyn for some reason was acting like a mother.

"You're worrying too much ,it even seems weird for you to be like this."
