I found myself waking with the chilly winter haze of Forks slowly seeping into my bones. The bleary haze of my vision struggled to focus in on the room around me. But unlike most other mornings I was met with the ever-so-familiar tingling sensation within my temples. I had never bothered to read into the familiar sensation more than what was given to me, just accepting the strange phenomena as normality in my life. But the buzzing of my brain always led me to a deeply ingrained intuitive sense of knowledge. Whatever information I receive always seemed to fall gracefully into the depths of my subconscious as if this information had always been there, and this time I wasn't sure what to make of it.
Bella wants to pursue Edward's true identity.
But before I could continue to stew in this newfound troubling revelation I was met with the familiar sound of a pebble being thrown at the window. Moving with slightly more speed I opened the window to see the same honey blonde that I had become ever so accustomed to. Letting a smile wash over my face I opened the window to let Jasper in.
"You, Sir, are going to be caught by my father one of these days, you know that?" I laugh as Jasper climbs in through the window.
"Well, Ma'am, we can cross that bridge when we get to it, but your father likes me anyway" he answered back smugly, warm amber eyes almost glowing with affection as he placed a cool kiss on my forehead.
"You're here a little early aren't you?" I question as I began to filter through the wardrobe for something to wear, choosing to settle on a standard pair of black jeans and boots for the bike with one of Charlie's old Metallica shirts that I stole from him when I was 12. It was well-worn but is still my favourite shirt and one of the few things from Forks that I actively took to Arizona.
"Well excuse me then Darlin', guess I'll just leave" Jasper sassed as he wrapped his arms around my waist.
"You're gonna leave in like 10 minutes just to appear at the front door anyway" I jokingly rolled her eyes before placing a quick kiss to the tip of his nose. "You know how Bella won't get off my back about Edward? Well, she's officially decided she's going to try and find out his secret" I muttered softly.
"She tell you this herself or is it your intuition thing"
"Intuition thing"
Jasper let out a deep contemplative sigh before his arms began to wrap tighter around my waist, a hand came up to play with the wavy ends of my hair. "I'll let the family know and we'll see if Alice has seen anything. Edward has been acting quieter than usual at home too so he might be looking to get involved with her too." The thoughtful look only lasted on his sculpted face for a few short moments before falling into a relaxed smile. "We'll deal with whatever happens when it happens Darlin', don't let yourself worry about it too hard"
"But now that she's deciding to commit to finding out, I know she's going to be mad at me that I didn't tell her, regardless of the fact that it's not my secret to tell" I voiced my troubles out loud dreading the thought of Bella holding a grudge against me for something that isn't my fault.
"She can get over it" Jasper replied bluntly "Besides Rose will rip her a new one if she tries anything anyway, now let's get you ready for this field trip"
I had gotten used to the constant feeling of eyes on my back ever since Bella and I arrived at Forks, the high school kids never bothered to hide their leering even after three months into our arrival. However, the pleasant tepid breeze and overclouded skies made up for the feeling of being watched. Bella and I stood by the busses, she had called me over for something before we were quickly interrupted by a wildly excited Mike Newton.
