The Sun Warriors

"Are you serious?" Dev's jaw dropped at what I explained.

The five of us, with Kova in my backpack, were waiting at a half-broken dock after driving an hour from the Port Blair Airport with one of my acquaintances in their car. The dock was neither showing signs of being used or being inhabited either. The dock house also seemed abandoned. Maybe it's my Grandfather's fault. Disconnecting the family disconnected the Nation too.

"I think she is." Said one of our Dai Li.

"For almost 800 years, Avatars were never brought here." said Kova, from inside my backpack.

"Yeah, for obvious reasons! One is that the Avatar before me died around 300 years ago. And two, wild animals don't like us! And Dragons have to judge you?! Do these supposed Dragons even exist? They'll just kill me!"

Yup. That's Dev when he's freaked out, of course. He does have a good reason to this time. I don't know about Dragon behavior or whether they can be friendly to him or not. He might actually get into trouble this time. Especially if he keeps relying on realistic human non-bender science.

"What was your name again?" I asked one of the African-descent Dai Li who was sitting next to me as we waited.

"I'm not allowed to tell you for your safety, My Lord. It's not like we'll ever meet again." He replied.

"True, but you all know my name. I should know one of yours so that I remember better. There's a saying that if you meet someone for the first time, there's a good chance you'll meet them again." I replied, while still looking ahead at Dev talking to Kova, who was half outside my bag, in the distance.

The man gave a puzzled look to me.

"Relax, I'm not the philosophical type." I said.

"Still, My Lord. Dai Li never carry a personality, and a name comes with it. It is a tradition upheld for centuries." He replied.

I didn't say anything more because just then, a military speed boat arrived at the dock with one driver in it. He was in a complete Navy attire with sunglasses on. He hopped onto the dock and tied the boat down. I went up to him and we shook hands.

"These four look like outsiders, My Lord. Are you sure?" he asked.

"Don't worry. They've been instructed well." I said.

"Good. Let's not delay. I only have 43 minutes left in my patrol." He said as he stood on the boat end and helped each of us inside.

As soon as we sat down and held onto something, he sped away immediately towards an island in the distance. Nobody is actually allowed to enter as the Tribe staying there has shown hostility. Great cover, right?

"How often do you ferry people over there, Rajat sir?" I asked.

"Other than a few inhabitants of the island itself, nobody. Thank you for remembering me." He said.

"Thank you for still being there." I said.

Within half an hour, we reached the foot of the island and docked near a rock. As soon as the last of us got off, he left immediately. We then turned around to face a dense tropical jungle and then entered it without hesitating. Kova decided to get down and walk with us as he and Dev were still in an argument. Ugh, just stop.

"Asin, I will definitely not be accepted by those Dragons." Said Dev, while I caught up to them.

"First of all, they are called Masters. It's just pure coincidence that they happen to be Dragons and the last of their species. Second, only one Avatar has been deemed worthy by them and it's Avatar Aang. He and one of the former Fire Lords, Fire Lord Zuko were deemed worthy. Lastly, if you keep thinking like that then they definitely will roast you alive." I said, and walked ahead of them with Kova next to me.
