Republic City 3

After a couple hours on top of the hill with Kova, the two of us trekked back down towards the campsite where we left Naomi and Tark last. The two of them were still there but Tark was holding his arm again. Looks like he didn't talk so easily. Hiyori and Dev came back as well and we all were just in time for lunch.

"Hey, guys! Enjoying yourselves?" I asked, greeting Hiyori and Dev.

"I did!" piped up Hiyori.

Dev gave a slight nod indicating that he was okay so I guess he enjoyed too. I looked over at Tark who looked away while still catching a hold on his arm. Naomi smiled slightly while cracking her fingers. She certainly loved what she did to him.

We ate our meals and Hiyori dragged Dev away again to avoid Tark and to explore the opposite side of Republic City which they haven't touched yet. Naomi and I went towards the fields outside the city ruins and stood there, enjoying the breeze.

"More than the shock of you actually bringing an outsider, he did what he did out of jealousy." Naomi explained.

"I see...but what about his thoughts on him aside from that fact?" I asked, out of curiosity.

"He doesn't have much hope for the kid." – I looked away towards the hills – "But I do." She said and I looked back at her in surprise.

"Really? But I thought Avatar Sri- "I started.

"She's from another time, Asin. Centuries ago." She said.

A pause occurred and we looked at the hills in the distance as we felt the wind from that direction as well.

"Asin...what do you guys even plan to do?" Naomi spoke up.

"Dev will learn all the four elements." I replied.

"And then what?" she asked.

"We have to go to the South Pole through the Spirit portal and- "I started.

"Meet the Council of Spirits? They don't care about Avatars anymore." She said.

"They know about his existence. He can meet their expectations."

"Let's assume they'll deem him worthy. Then what?"

"Then...uh..." I hesitated.

How can I possibly tell her without sounding like a fool? She'll take it as a joke? Why is she even so interested?

"You're not telling me, huh. Listen, whatever it is you guys plan on doing, I want in." she said.

"What? Seriously?" I exclaimed.

"Of course, I do! How long do you expect me to live my mundane life?" she said. "So? Am I in?"

I gave an impressed look at her.

"Yeah, you are." I said.

"Great! But leave Hiyori right now. She is too naïve." Said Naomi.

"Leave Tark too. I don't trust him." I said.

"Seconded." She replied.

Suddenly, we heard a loud scream from the ruins! It felt like Hiyori! Immediately, Naomi and I sprinted back up into the ruins from the fields and ran towards our right to another city square to see a shocking intruder!

Hiyori was on the ground with multiple burns and scratches all over her body and was unable to get up! Tark arrived just then behind us to see up in the sky at the sight that really shocked us which was Dev in the Avatar State! Woah...his eyes and mouth were so bright. It was so powerful! He was at least eight meters high with a huge circle of fire created around him! the entire area became windy like a tornado was about to approach! At his front were about fifty masked men in white trying to hold their positions but were blocking their faces from the dust storm! They were all a mixed bender group with majority of them being fire benders! What the hell? Behind them came out another figure in white but I could make her out.
