Training is Over
The whirlwind definitely felt more powerful than what those few airbenders made. Due to my weakness, I couldn't get up but due to its sheer force, the others couldn't stand their ground either. I noticed a tornado forming within this whirlwind and was directed towards Sakhi, who staggered around but remained standing. Jeez, what is this girl?! Did my lightning strike do nothing? Dev started to walk forward after giving me a glance. I could see his glowing eyes, but they seemed different. Not like his usual Avatar state. Usually, his eyes were lit in a bright white glow but this was bluer than it, neon blue. Was I seeing correctly or on the verge of completely losing consciousness?
The other airbenders somehow got back up their feet and blocked themselves and Sakhi from the tornado which deflected them! Dev, like me, didn't wait around and blasted forward by punching out fire behind him, propelling him ahead and instantly landed a raw punch on Sakhi's face! She fell back into an airbender who also fell back ten feet! The other airbenders attacked head on with wind cuts at him which he deflected with ease when suddenly his feet felt a tug into the sand! We both looked towards the left to see sandbender on the ground with an arm up but bleeding from his mouth, struggling. Dev kept deflecting the airbender's attacks with one arm and punched out a fire at the sandbender knocking him out cold. Suddenly the whirlwind was dying down! But immediately another gust of wind was made by the airbenders that blew sand everywhere, pushing back Dev! I could hear a helicopter in the distance and the sand gust getting bigger when Dev suddenly stopped glowing! He turned around and rushed over to me, kneeling down and covered my face with a hug, shielding me from the debris as my eyes finally closed.

My eyes fluttered open to the dim lighting in my room. I turned my head around to see candles lit which meant it was evening. I looked down to see my body in a white linen shirt and pants with bandages on my hands. I guess, Sakhi escaped successfully. Another fight was over for now. What other choice did we have anyway? We were still unprepared. How...how am I not strong enough? I just...I can't believe what's happening to me right now. Sakhi used to be this annoying fly to the Fire nation and to me but now...it's a whole different scenario.
I drink some water from a glass covered with a coaster on the table next to me and got out of bed. I ran my fingers through my hair a few times to take out a few knots then left the room towards the entrance hall. I passed by a few rooms on the way and they were empty. I left outside barefoot and stood on the sand dune behind the dormitory building. The wind was much cooler at night so the breeze was comforting, unlike this afternoon. The same sand that could pierce your skin and eyes like a few hours ago but right now, in this moment, it was harmless.
Sakhi's fire was purple, I suddenly recalled as I stood, watching endless sand dunes under the stars, with a light breeze, softly changing their size. She was right about one thing: she clearly achieved something that no human ever has. No wonder the benders watched her with fear but admiration at the same time. That is scary. To acknowledge the obvious...I don't think I could've taken her down even if I didn't help open the doors. Now I should be worried. Worried that my training in Firebending in the Fire Nation is not enough. Which means Sakhi was right about another thing: I have to leave to learn.
But how can I leave when I'm the ruler of a large territory? Alone? I wondered as I went back down to my room. I need to plan.

The Lady Dai Li entered my room with my dinner and set it down on the table next to me. Her hands were slightly bandaged as well. She bowed slightly.
"Will you be alright?" I asked, pointing at her hands.
"Yes, My Lord. Of course." She replied.
"Great." I said.
"The Avatar is also recovering. Only exhaustion was his issue." She informed.
