Taehyung woke up with a gasp, his lungs immediately craving the feeling of air as if he'd been drowning in a lake of pure darkness. He was in fact surrounded by darkness, was his first notice, not sure if he was really awake or still trapped in that semi-conscious loop he'd been trapped for the past god knows how many hours.
Jesus, had he been drugged or hit on the head? He wasn't sure.
His throat felt dry, constricting in itself with the desire to drink something, anything. This caused a series of coughing to start, his lungs burning and he could hear his voice echoing wherever he was.
In an attempt to move his arms, he knew it was futile the moment he felt the stinging sension around both wrists, tightly tied to the armrests of what felt like a wooden chair. He shuffled in place, listening to the creaking of the wood, not letting go under his strength.
Great, his feet were also tied to both front legs of the chair.
Okay, Taehyung, you need to calm the fuck down. Panicking isn't going to solve shit.
He repeated this in his mind, taking a deep breath to assess his current situation. So his eyes vere covered, in fact, his entire face had been covered with what seemed like a black cloth bag of sorts. It smelled heavily of jasmine and pinewood, probably to confuse his nose. He couldn't tell where he was by scent then.
Fine, his nose hadn't always been as reliable anyways.
Taehyung decided to lean on his ears instead. His senses might be underdeveloped, but his hearing had been one of the things that came naturally to him. He had a good ear, wolf assistance or not.
It was quiet at first, the sound of distant dripping as background. He could also hear what seemed like water rushing under him, probably the pipes, an old water system. He could also hear meowing, most likely strays right outside of wherever he was. It was cold, and it felt humid under his clothes, yet there was a chill creeping up his arms, seeping under the sleeves of his jacket. As far as he could tell through common sense alone was that he must be in some abandoned place, the sound of rusty ligaments told his that it was probably some construction area as he dragged his feet slightly and could feel as well as hear the sound of what seemed like sand and gravel. Some storage room might also be it.
Of course he'd be sent to the most cliche of places to take kidnapped victims too. Criminals this days are running out of ideas. He hoped he'd at least still be in Seoul or at least near it. He wasn't sure how long he'd been out for, so he couldn't tell whether he'd been in the road for a long time. He might as well have been taken all the way to Incheon for all he knew.
Oh god, why was this happening to him? His biggest problem so far was to get his thesis finished before the due date and now he was the victim of kidnapping for god knows what reason. He blames the patriarchy for all of his miseries.
Well, at least his sense of humour was left intact despite how fast his head was spinning, making it difficult to concentrate.
Oh, he would be hating the smell of jasmine after this, it was giving him a headache.
Taehyung seemed to also be losing track of time. How long had he been conscious so far?
It didn't matter, when a loud croaking noise resonated through the place, echoing through the most likely empty walls. Okay, so the place was mostly vacated to have such audio feedback.
His head slightly turned to where the sound of footsteps was coming closer and closer. His heart was beginning to thump harder against his ribcage while he willed it to stop and go back to a normal pace. If this people where anything besides betas, they would definitely hear how loud his heartbeat was and that was not something to be proud of at the moment.
