Jungkook couldn't believe his ears. No. He didn't want to believe what he had just heard. It was already difficult enough for him to process the entire situation. Taehyung's condition was something he still didn't fully grasp and it was taking him a little more brain power to wrap his head around the fact that Taehyung didn't lie. His condition was already hard to understand, let alone explain, so it made sense he preferred to keep things simple.

He was an idiot.

Not only did he not believe him, but he had said things that up until now, he really wasn't sure why he said them. Taehyung owed him absolutely nothing and he was behaving as if he was something he owned. The bitter taste of regret was filling him to the point where he could almost feel it coursing through his veins.

No, he had to stay focused. If what Seokjin was saying was true, then Taehyung was in a live or die situation at the moment. If all of it was true, then it meant that everything that the younger had done until now, was all just a strive for survival.

But that couldn't be it either. Seokjin had said that Taehyung might have not understood completely what was at risk.

Then, did he not know that his condition could cost him his life?

Either way, that meant that Taehyung was doing this to protect others. If he lost control over his own self, he would never forgive himself. Hurting someone was definitely not something the young alpha would do without a justifiable reason. And if that was the case, then Jungkook was the only one that could help him.

He had pushed him away, though. Not only was he his last resort, but he was doing it for the sake of others. Ah, he was really an idiot.

"Jungkook-ah, what are you thinking?" Seokjin's voice broke his train of thought, bringing him back. Right, they were at his house and Taehyung was not there.

The look of concern displayed on all of their faces just made him feel even worse. Gosh, he was supposed to be the boss here. He was taught to always remain calm and collected and that his main priority was to keep his members calm as well. He was supposed to be their reassurance, but right now, he knew that everyone was worrying over the situation at hand. Not only were they worried about Taehyung, but they were also worrying over him and that just made him feel like a failure.

The alpha let out a sigh, burying his face in his hands, hoping that would hide what was going inside of him. If he could just control himself. If he could simply remain calm and be that light of hope everyone needed at the moment. God, he felt like a child all over again.

"I'm sorry." He sighed again, mumbling the words through the rough skin of his hands and not really daring to meet his hyungs' eyes.

"Why? The person you should be apologising to isn't here. So please, talk to us." He could feel the doctor's hands pulling at his own as he uncovered his face to reveal the other three males in the room.

"Jungkook, you are an idiot. A big one at that. And I couldn't give two shits about you being my boss at the moment, but we care about you. We are your hyungs. So stop looking like a kicked puppy and let us take care of you like we used to. You might be our employer, but we are still the ones who raised you." Yoongi stood up, walked over to where he was sitting and placed a hand over his hair, lightly ruffling it before pulling it with a scrunch of his nose.

"Well, not my choice of words, but Yoongi hyung's right. I think you're forgetting that you're still the youngest amongst us here. And I'm not saying you're a child or anything, but it's okay to ask for help. We want to help you. You don't have to always be all grown up in front of us. And I know for a fact, that these two still see you as a toddler, so you better stop trying to impress them with your body and fortune, cause they aren't gonna be swayed by that."
