"Hey! Did I miss anything?" I joined my group at the Initiate tables in the cafeteria. Once I sat down I turned and planted a passionate kiss on Gally's lips with a smile.
"Hey, uh, no. No you haven't," Gally stuttered while blushing. "Where've you been?"
"Four wanted a rematch from his loss this morning. Guess he's a sore loser," I laughed. "He's a good opponent. We're so evenly matched we had to end the fight in a tie."
Gally smiled and squeezed my hand. "Proud of you for how hard you've been working."
"Thank you," I leaned on him. "Let's just hope it pays off."
It's the Initiation dinner where they announce our final scores before heading to the second phase of training. And last time I checked I was still below the line.
But they hid everyone's scores from us yesterday so none of us could predict what the finals were. So I definitely could've moved up since then.
The scores would be announced after we'd all eaten and such so we had time before the announcement. There was something I wanted to address.
Thomas and Christina were sat in front of me and Gally having their own little conversation. I felt slightly bad for interrupting but it needed to be addressed.
"Alright, you two, what's the deal?" I asked curiously. "You've been super lovey dovey lately. Are you two...?"
Thomas blushed when I motioned between the two of them. Christina laughed and nodded.
"Yes. We're together. We planned on telling you two after the score announcements."
"Guess I figured it out way before then. I had an inkling last night."
Thomas turned bright red. "Last night? What- what do you mean, last night? We didn't do anything."
"When we were all talking on the floor. Why? Did you two get up to anything else after that?"
"Uh, no. Nope. We did not," Thomas scratched the back of his head. "Don't worry about it. Subject change please. Literally anything else."
Gally and I both laughed. "Subject change honored. Guess what I overheard?"
"Hm?"
"Dauntless are going to be monitoring a food and supply transfer from Amity to Abnegation for the Factionless tomorrow."
"Ab-Abnegation?" I dropped my fork and my eyes watered. "You mean...?"
Gally smiled and kissed my cheek, then wiped the tears that fell. "Yep. You'll get to see Newt again. Tomorrow."
I bit down hard on my lip and took a deep breath to prevent an entire explosion of happy tears in the middle of the cafeteria. But god was it hard, because I wanted to just fall apart then and there.
