The doctors and nurses left me alone for a while to let my body rest. I was brought to a stuffy gray room with a flat, thin black cot for a bed. And a small metal table and chair in the corner of the room.

When they first brought me in here I was too exhausted to take notice of the room around me, but now that I've slept I'm seeing the room for the first time.

And the first thing I noticed was the smell of the cot. It shot me all the way back to the maze days. Times that I spent leaning against Minho as we talked under the stars. The whole room smelled like him.

They must've put me in his old room.

I don't know how long it's been since they drained me of all that blood, but my body felt weak. I was very unsteady and shaky on my feet and couldn't walk without holding onto something.

There was a tiny window in my door, so I made my way to it and peeked out. There he was. Staring out the window of his own door just across the hallway.

We met eyes and mine watered. So close yet so far. He leaned his forehead against the glass and closed his eyes.

I know. I missed you too.

I turned around to spot the metal chair and an idea popped into my head. I stumbled to it and plopped down to the floor. It was an old chair so the screws were loose, loose enough for me to break off one of the legs.

I stumbled back to the door and used all of my strength to stab the leg through the window. It shattered like I knew it would, but the small window didn't give me much room to reach down to the door handle.

Minho watched the whole thing and gave me a weak smile, appreciating me trying but he knew before I did that there was no way to get out of these cells.

So I hid the broken metal chair leg under the cot and went back to my door to lean against it in defeat. Minho wasn't at his window anymore.

Most of the monitors in the labs were turned off, as were the lights. So I assumed it was night time, and decided to try and get more sleep to heal my sore, weak body.
