Carmen~

Maybe I should get a job I thought. That would be pointless since I have enough money for pretty much the rest of my life in the bank. The perks of being a former thief. But then again, I don't wanna stay in the house all alone doing nothing for the rest of my life. The downside of being a former thief.

Then there's that offer Owl guy made. I call him that since I don't know his name. Stupid name for someone stupid. I would've done some research on him but I don't really know where to start. Knowing his name would be a great start. But I don't think going online and searching up "owl guy" would help.

Pray to God by Calvin Harris featuring Haim started to play on the radio. I don't really believe in coincidence but think this is one.

Oh, I remember when this road was my own. I pray to God I just don't know anymore.

I shook my head. Na, this ain't a coincidence. I do know what I'm doing. But for some reason I doubted my own words.

I pray to God I just don't know anymore.

My head started bobbing to the beat. But this is a pretty cool song. I turned up the volume and started dancing. At least I live by myself so no one can see me embarrass myself.

Once the song was over, I went back to what I was doing: absolutely nothing. I wouldn't so bored if I gave up being a thief or said yes to the offer. I lightly slapped myself in the face. No, don't think like that Carmen. Okay, now I'm going crazy. I really need to get out the house. But where?

Wonder if that café I used to go to when I was younger is still there. I grabbed my keys and my bag. Time to go.

Time skip~

I drove down Boulevard Del Perro and parked my car nearby the café, which I hope is still there. If not, I'll just keep walking to wherever my feet take me.

A smile appeared on my face and I walked faster when I spotted the familiar sign. I walked in, the same old bell ringing as the door opened. The café had a few people and I noticed that the store had a makeover. The old blue wallpaper was replaced with a darker shade and they now had booths with black seats on the right side of the café. The place looks even better than before. I let out a small chuckle when I noticed that they still had those fake plants.

"Hello, what can I-Carmen Kalaba is that you?" The middle aged woman who was serving me asked. I took a good look at her and realised who it was.

"Karen!" I shouted a little too loudly. She came around the counter and hugged me tightly. Yup, this really is her. Karen let go and took a step back.

"Oh, look how much you've grown. You still look as beautiful as ever." She said happily. Karen was a good friend of my mother, and she always treated me like her own daughter.

"And you still look the same as before." I replied and she laughed.

"You are too sweet." She said and pinched my cheek like she used to. Karen went back around the counter. The bell rang and Karren stared pass me. I also turned around and instantly regret it. There was Owl guy walking up to the counter. I can't really call him Owl Guy now since he's wearing dark aviators instead. I only recognised him because he's still wearing the same clothes.

"Following me now?" I asked him as he stood next to me. I could finally see what he looks like. First word that came to mind: intimidating. Now he looked more like he's part of a gang. Hate to admit but he looks quite handsome.

"I told you last night that I'm gonna keep annoying you until you say yes." He said and I rolled my eyes.

"Well I haven't ordered yet so do you mind?" The irritation was obvious in my voice.

"Actually you can go and sit down." Karen cut in.

"But-"

"Go." I knew not to argue with Karen since she's probably gonna win. I growled before walking to one of the booths, Owl Guy following me. I sat down and he sat across from me.

"You know I'm still not joining." I stated as I was staring out the window at the front of the café.

"I don't believe you." He replied. For some reason, I didn't believe myself either. I looked back at him and saw him staring at me beneath those dark aviators. He had brown eyes I noted.

"Why do you want me to join?"

"We need new recruits." He simply said.

"Are they getting annoyed by another member of the gang too?" I spotted him glaring at me momentarily.

"Actually it's just you that we want."

"Wow I feel so special." I sarcastically said." What's your name?" I then asked.

"Vanoss." I scoffed.

"What's your real name?"

"I'll tell you that once I trust you." His voice was serious.

"Or I could do the same thing you did and find out for myself."

"And how will you do that?" He challenged and crossed his arms.

"I have my ways." A smirk played on his lips. I heard his phone ring. He took it out of his pocket and looked at it.

"Looks like I'm gonna have to cut this short." He said and stood up." See you tomorrow, Carmen."

"Can't wait." I replied sarcastically before he left. Karen walked over with a cup of hot chocolate and a chocolate chip cookie and put it down in front of me. She opened her mouth to say something but I cut her off." Please don't ask."

"I wasn't going to." She lied." This is on the house and I have some cookies packed for you when you leave." I smiled and thanked her.

My mind always seems to go back to Vanoss. At least I know his name now.

Third Person~

"Where is she?" Vanoss asked as he walked into an abandoned building. The whole crew was there, waiting for him. Wildcat and Lui moved out the way so Vanoss could see. There was a girl tied up to a chair, blindfolded and gagged. She had short blonde hair and porcelain skin. She looked dead but you could hear her soft breathing. Vanoss signalled Wildcat to wake her up.

"Wake up fucker!" He shouted and slapped her on the face. Her groans were muffled by the gag. She tried to move but only ended up hurting herself more. Wildcat untied the gag and blindfold and stepped back.

"This is going to be simple." Vanoss said to the woman and slowly walked towards her. He pulled out a knife from his jacket and started spinning it between his fingers." Answer my questions honestly and I won't stab you. Do I make myself clear?"

She stayed silent. Vanoss grinned evilly and threw the knife towards her. She screamed as the knife lodged into her left shoulder." Do I make myself clear?" He asked again, more sternly this time, and held the handle of the knife. Her unreadable expression was now replaced with fear. She hesitantly nodded.

"First question, what is your name?" Vanoss asked as sweetly as he could but it came out creepy. Silence. He growled and pressed the knife further into her, making her hiss in pain.

"...Diana."
