"Wait here." I told Diana after I helped her sit on the couch in my old house. The stitches were starting to open and bleed so I went back to the secret room to get the first-aid kit and a washcloth.
"Well, I can't really go anywhere can I?" I heard her say. The way she said it didn't come out as angry so it was fine for me to laugh at that.
We agreed in the car that we would ask each and answer each other's questions when we were out of the car and into the house.
When I came back into the living room, Diana was looking around the house in curiosity.
"Who's place is this?" She asked while still looking around.
"It's mine but I don't actually live here." I told her and sat next to her legs on the couch, placing the first-aid kit, washcloth and the small bowl of water onto the coffee table which still had the cloth over it. We couldn't really go to the hospital since, you know, she's a criminal. Luckily, she taught me how to do this kind of stuff.
After that, it became silent. It was just like this when we were in the car after we made that agreement.
I grabbed what I needed from the first-aid kit and crouched on the ground so it could be easier for me to do the stitch on her thigh.
"So," I began, breaking the silence to keep her mind of the stitching since she keeps hissing from the pain." Why are you here in Los Santos?"
"I was stealing some files from the FIB Building." She answered and hissed once again as I was taking out the old stitching out.
Diana is also a thief. You would think that since she trained me, we would practically be the same. But that's not the case here. We were very different. She's more chaotic while I was all about stealth. She likes tripping alarms on purpose while I make sure not to. I would go on and on about this but that would take too long.
"I though you were into shiny stuff, not a bunch of papers." I said to her.
"I still am but they weren't for me."
"Then who was it for?" I asked. Diana stayed silent.
"If you lie, I'll know." I warned.
"I was stealing it for Christian." She confessed. My eyes widened.
"Wait, he's here too?"
"He's been here since he moved out from your place in Liberty City." She said. No wonder why I never saw him after that.
"He never told us that." I muttered.
"He didn't want you guys to find him." Diana said." Hmm, reminds me of someone." She said and looked at me. I purposely made her wince when I started stitching her thigh.
"How come he told you?"
"He didn't until I forced it out of him when I arrived here." I let out a small snicker.
"Wait, isn't he the leader of a gang? Couldn't he just ask one of them to do it?" I suddenly asked.
"He said that he didn't want any of them to get caught." I scoffed. Ever since when did Diana care enough for Christian to do that?" And he said that he'll pay me double." And there was the real reason why Diana did it.
"So did you get caught?" I asked.
"No, but I didn't realise I wasn't the only one who wanted those files." She said.
"Vanoss Crew?"
"Yup." She said." I managed to get away with the files but I was ambushed and kidnapped the next day when I was gonna go give the files to Christian."
"You still wanna continue?" I asked her, figuring out where the story was going to next.
"Don't worry, I'm fine about talking about it." She said as I finished up the stitch. I then sat next to her on the couch and moved onto the wound on her shoulder. Wow, they really did a number on her I thought as I started talking the old stitch out from her shoulder.
Diana doesn't usually get scared that easily. And maybe this is a sign that I should be scared too, well even more scared than I am.
"So when did you get kidnapped?" I asked.
"Three or four days ago, I'm not too sure." Diana said. That meant that she was kidnapped around the time I joined Vanoss Crew." They wanted to know about the Royals." She continued.
Oh, so that's what Christian's gang called I thought. I actually never knew until now what the gang he lead was called. He never told us that, well me that.
"So they tortured you for the answers." I said sadly.
Diana nodded." I never told them that I wasn't part of the gang since they would think that I was lying, so I stayed quiet for most of the time."
"Diana." I said sympathetically but she continued.
"A few of them tried getting answers out of me, even though I didn't know any of them. Whenever I didn't answer, they would just hurt me. But Vanoss was the worst out of all of them. He was the one who stabbed and tortured me the most." She whispered the last part.
I started to feel a mix of anger and sadness.
"But I would have never met Moo if it wasn't for that." Diana said, sounding a more happy.
I couldn't help but smile at her last sentence, the feelings I previously felt disappearing just like that. I remembered the moment her and Moo had back there. Then I remembered it was me who ruined it.
"I never knew you were into guys who look homeless." I joked and finished off the stitch on her shoulder. I then got the washcloth, dipped it into the water and started cleaning the blood.
"Me neither." She said and we both laughed. "I knew not to fall in love quickly but I made an exception for Brock."
"Ooh, what happened?" I asked excitedly.
"He saved me at one point while I was there and then he tended to my wounds. That was actually the last time they did anything to me before you came and took me from there. It was just the two of us so I took the chance and asked him why he saved me back there. He was really awkward at first but then he said that he didn't want to see me go through anymore pain."
"Awww." I said.
"We hit it off from there and just started talking."
"Awww." I repeated.
"And that's how we fell in love." She finished off.
"Awww." I said for the last time." That was so cheesy."
"I know right." She replied and we started laughing again. I then realised now how much I missed Diana.
"You can't tell anyone about us." She said when the laughing died down. I knew when she meant by 'anyone', she meant Vanoss Crew.
"Don't worry, I won't." I told her and finished cleaning the blood. I packed everything back into the first-aid kit and put the washcloth into the bowl of the water that was now red. I stood up, taking everything with me as I was walking.
"Carmen." Diana's voice stopped me as I was leaving the living room. I turned around to faced her." Thank you."
"No problem." I said before leaving her to sleep.
