Second Guessing

Chapter 4

Third Person~

The interrogation had been going on for almost an hour. Only Vanoss, Moo and Lui were there. The rest of the crew left to do other things. They found out the basic information like how old she was and all that. But it was the last question Vanoss asked that made her quiet.

"Where's the Royals hangout?" He asked. She stayed silent and just stared down at her thighs. Her screamed echoed the warehouse after Vanoss threw the knife to her left thigh. Her eyes started to water but she didn't let any of the tears escape.

"Vanoss, I think she's had enough for now." Moo said and stepped towards him. Diana's eyes widened as she was still looking down. She honestly thought she was going to die then and there from the injuries Vanoss caused.

Better than being here Diana thought.

"Fine." Without warning he pulled the knives out, making her scream in pain again." This isn't over." He whispered dangerously to her.

Two days later, Carmen's POV~

Hmm, wonder why Vanoss never showed his face yesterday. It's not like I wanted to see him, I was just expecting him to knock on my door or just break in if I didn't open the door for him.

But honestly, ever since he came into my life, it's actually been the highlight of the new life I've chosen. It made my life a little more interesting. Maybe I was wrong trying to have a normal life. After all I've done, it's probably one of the last things I deserve.

I did do a little research on 'em. There wasn't much on them since all their records aren't allowed to be seen by the public. I wanted to hack into the system but if I did it on my new phone or laptop, they could easily track it down. I sighed. If only I had my old gadgets and gear to help me.

What if I did join Vanoss Crew? I've already admit this once but deep down, I did want to say yes. It'll be fun to add "member of a gang" to the long list of things I've done in my life so far. I've done so much for someone who's only twenty-two.

It really is tempting to say yes but there is a few things holding me back.

"Carmen?" I heard Vanoss say in a sing-song way, which shockingly brought a smile to my face. I just stood and stared at the door, failing to take the smile off my face." You know I can easily break the door down right?"

I instantly opened the door, finally suppressing the smile that was on my face." Please don't." I said." I would ask you why you're here but I already know the reason."

"And I will keep asking until you say yes. So Carmen, will you-"

"No." I cut him off. There was a bit of regret in my voice when I said that. And I think he noticed.

"Please, you and I both know you want to join. All you have to do is accept my offer." It was silent between the two of us. I wanted to say no but my mind was stopping me from doing so. Around a minute passed. I could tell by the look on his face that Vanoss was an impatient person.

"...fine." I mumbled and a smile appeared on his face.

"I'm sorry what? I didn't hear you." He mockingly stepped forward and out a hand to his ear.

"Do you want me to take it back?" He stayed quiet." Yeah that's what I thought."

Sorry if this is short, I just needed to get this part out of the way and I've been busy with school and other stuff. But don't worry, I'm still writing the story:)
