Second Guessing

Chapter 12

We started circling each other, waiting for one of us to attack first. I looked at Vanoss and started thinking of ways of how to take him down.

Vanoss is clearly bigger, taller and stronger than me so it's gonna be difficult to actually knock him over.

"If Carmen wins, I'm gonna lose it." I heard Terroriser say.

"Hell no, my money's on her." Lui then said. I looked over to them to see that they were making bets.

Then I heard footsteps behind me and I ducked underneath Vanoss' arm just in time. I rolled to the other side and quickly got up.

"Didn't anyone ever tell you to never take your eye off your opponent?" He said. Although he was wearing the owl mask, it was obvious that there was a cocky grin on his face.

Oh so he's trying to piss me off. Well two can play at that game.

I ran to him and threw a fake right punch. He stepped back and I tripped him up by putting my foot behind his, making him lose his balance and fall flat on his ass. 

Some of the guys laughed and so did I.

"I feel like that's the only way you can win a fight." I said and played a cocky grin onto my face. The guys oohed as Vanoss got back up. I gestured him with my hands to come at me and he did. The guys started cheering.

He ran towards me and tried hitting me. His swings were more aggressive and then I knew that I'm already getting to him.

Man, he gets angry quickly.

"Hurry up and hit her!" I heard Terroriser say. I rolled my eyes as I was dodging Vanoss' quick punches. I countered one and twisted it behind his back but he got out of the grip easily and swung another punch at me as soon as he turned around. The punch landed and now we were both trying to hit each other while dodging them at the same time.

It was going back and forth until I countered one of his hits by grabbing and holding out his arm then sending a kick to his chest. He stepped back and I tripped him over, making him fall on his ass again.

"You really need to stop falling onto your ass." I said and noticed his fists clenching. I was caught off guard when I felt him grip onto my leg and make me fall forward to the ground. When I turned around, I rolled away from his foot that was gonna come down onto my stomach. The ground made a loud thud when his foot connected to it.

That was close

As I got up, Vanoss managed to hit me when his fist barely missed my face and connected with my shoulder. I hissed since it was actually quite painful.

"Aww, did someone get a boo boo?" He asked me as if I was a little kid.

"Why, wanna kiss it better?" I didn't know where that came from but I smirked when I noticed him freeze.

It was my turn to begin the attack so I threw a few punches, which he easily dodged. I then sent another kick to his stomach but he caught my leg and twisted it, making me hiss in pain again. I started hopping on my other leg then I kicked him in the face-well mask.

I fell onto the ground and tried to get up. My ankle was in pain but I suppressed it once I stood up.

"You're gonna have to do better than that." I said and he attacked first.

"Argh! C'mon!" Vanoss said out of frustration as I dodged each of his hits. I could understand why he was getting frustrated since he couldn't hit me and I couldn't hit him. Unlike him, I didn't let that get in the way. He then changed his tactics sorta and started targeting my shoulder. I grabbed his oncoming fist but he used his other fist to hit me in the same shoulder than was in pain.
