The instant I heard Christian's voice, I froze in my seat. It's been so long since I've heard his voice. I frowned when I remembered what Diana said before.
"He didn't want you guys to find him."
Christian and I used to be close. We would always talk to each other when we could since he would always be with his gang and I would always be busy being Siren. But ever since he became the leader, it was rare that we talked to each other. The only time he actually spent time with me was when my mother was dying.
I miss him.
But now I really need to keep my distance away from him since I joined Vanoss Crew.
"Christian, it's Diana."
"Where the hell were you?" He asked, his voice mixed with concern and anger." The gang have been looking everywhere for you since you weren't answering my calls or at your hotel."
"Look, I'll explain everything in person."
"Where are you?"
"I'm at a new hotel, I couldn't go back to my other one." She said, half-lying.
I just hope that Christian isn't like me and can tell when she's lying.
"Diana, I know you're lying."
I just had to jinx it didn't I?
"Well I can't really go anywhere since I'm injured." Diana said.
"Then tell me where you are so I can come and get you." Christian said.
"No, I'll come over to the bullet once I'm well enough." Diana said.
He sighed." You have a week." He said before hanging up.
"Smooth." I said sarcastically and she glared at me.
"Hey, it's hard to lie to him. Lying to him is like lying to you." She said.
"Yeah I know." I said." By the way, what's the bullet?" I asked, changing the subject sorta.
"It's a nightclub that The Royals run."
"Isn't that a little public for a gang?"
"It's under Christian's name and the hideout is a warehouse behind it."
"Hiding behind the public? That's either the most genius or dumbest idea I've ever heard."
"Yeah, but it's really popular and they've earned a lot of money from it." She said." And not once someone has found the hideout."
That's one place I need to make sure Vanoss Crew don't go to.
"Leader of a gang, owner of a successful black market and nightclub." I listed." Anything I missed?"
"Probably a lot more." Diana said.
Time skip~
It was around four in the afternoon. Diana and I were just talking about stuff when my phone rang.
"Carmen speaking."
"What? No hello or something?" The person said playfully.
I rolled my eyes once I recognised who it was.
"Want me to come over to your place now, Vanoss?" I said.
"Yeah, I wanna get the questions and training over with." Vanoss said.
"Yeah, I'll be there in ten." I said.
"See you then." Vanoss said before hanging up.
"You gonna be okay here?" I asked and stood up, already knowing that she was listening to the phone conversation.
