Rohan took a sip of his tea and looked out into the street. The day was beautiful: sun shining, light breeze that occasionally teased his hair, and the perfect temperature. This perfection was what led Rohan to his current attempt at people watching. The only downside? Other people had the same idea. The cafe was bustling and filled with people, leading to his current predicament.
Glancing over, Rohan examined the woman sitting across from him. His original intent was to watch people while sipping tea and brainstorming. He had brought his sketchbook and the notebook he scribbled ideas in, hoping to find inspiration. Instead he was sharing a table with a stranger. They had both arrived at the last available outdoor table at the same time.
Although they both cordially agreed to share the table, Rohan was secretly annoyed. People always wanted his autograph and to ask the most banal questions. It was exhausting when all he wanted was peace and quiet. 'It is no wonder people are so stupid,' Rohan thought, 'No space for thinking when the mouth is constantly running.'
However, Rohan had already bought tea and the woman seemed pleasant enough. Something in his head agreed to this situation even though he normally would not. Maybe it was the fact that her eyes didn't light up with star struck recognition. Maybe it was her soft voice and intelligent word choices. Or just maybe it was her beauty. Rohan shook that last thought from his head; what was wrong with him? He didn't normally have such thoughts.
Rohan decided he was attracted to her beauty because he was an artist and well built forms were his trade. Setting his notebook to the side, he flipped open his sketchbook. Flipping through to find an empty sheet, his nose wrinkled at some of the sketches he flipped past. He really needed some inspiration, a mental release from his current rut. These sketches were uninspired!
Finally finding a blank sheet, he pulled a pencil from his satchel and began to draw. The image appeared rather quickly, his fingers working their magic with fervor. Looking from page to woman, the pencil waltzed across the page in graceful curves. After several minutes, the basic sketch was done. It was good!
Leaning back to examine his work, Rohan was pleased. This drawing was good! He was excited, feeling his creativity flowing again. The drawing of the woman held expression, telling a story without words. She was a perfect model for him, it seems.
Finding new inspiration, Rohan wondered if she was as interesting inside as she was visually. He hated to break the silence at the table, it was so rare to find someone willing to keep quiet. Yet his curiosity was getting the best of him. Eyes scanning the page, Rohan decided he was going to engage in conversation with the woman. Contemplating how he would start conversing with the stranger across the table, he lifted his eyes from the page.
To his surprise, the woman met his gaze, e/c eyes staring back at his green orbs. Her lips were curled into a soft Mona Lisa smile, joviality danced across her features. 'What a pleasant visage,' he thought, a smile creeping onto his face as well.
"What a lovely drawing," she said, breaking the quiet between them. "You captured feeling, not just form. My name is Y/N L/N, what is yours?"
"Rohan Kishibe," he replied, watching to see if her expression changed to one of recognition. He braced for the obnoxious fan girling he feared, but it never came. Instead he was met with a more dazzling smile.
