Few days went by, and John was all over the news that he was wanted. Polices were looking for him everywhere in Southern Catalinas. Lamar started to feel unsafe that John was in his house hiding. Lamar was in his garage and thought about a plan. Later, he called John for a talk.
"John, you all over the news, and the police are looking for you everywhere. My wife doesn't like criminals staying in the house. I don't want no Wolf Bloods or police breaking in my shop to look for you. I don't want no more trouble from cops. You may want to live somewhere far away from here for your safety," Lamar said.
"Where?" John asked.
Lamar grabbed his keys and went to his yellow 1967 convertible, "Grab your bags and get in," Lamar said.
John got in the vehicle with him, "Are you ready to go to your new home? " Lamar said.
"Yes," John said.
Lamar started the convertible, and they drove off to the highway. Lamar turned to the radio, 'Crime, crime in Sosaville, ladies, and gentlemen, please follow The Lord and repent, back to the music!'
"Where is this place? Who are you taking me to?" John asked.
"To Oroland, and a good friend of mine. Don't be scared. He cool ... he will treat you fairly," Lamar said. They drove to Oroland, and it took them about a while to get there. John saw highways, buildings, palm trees, and homeless people all around. From such a long ride, he started to fall asleep. The pain in his body woke him up and caused him to not sleep well. His whole body throbbed from the punches and wounds. Lamar drove into a forest, and John saw nothing but trees. Unexpectedly, Lamar drove on a trail of dirt. John looked left and right to find a house or a sign of life.
"Are you sure you going the right way?" John asked.
"If you want to be safe, you need to be far from us," Lamar said.
They approached a big gate, and the gate opened to let them in, and they drove inside. The convertible drove on the road with top-notch flowers on the side. John looked at how wealthy and fancy this place looked. John was suspicious about this. John saw a house that looked like a castle from far away. He had never seen a building big and rich looking in Catalinas before, "Welcome to the Chamberlain Hotel," Lamar said. Lamar parked the convertible in front of the Chamberlain Hotel, and only he got out of the car, "Wait here," Lamar said.
Lamar walked into the hotel, then came back ten minutes later. Lamar approached John by the passenger window. John rolled his window down, "Okay, your free to go. This is your new place. The old man is waiting for you inside. There is nothing to be scared of," Lamar said. John got out of the car with his belongings, "If you need anything, let me know, and I let your mom know anything. Be good, don't do anything bad. If you are sorry for what you have done to your mom, go to her and apologize. Do something good for her," Lamar said. "Thank you for everything, Lamar. I will see you soon," John said.
John watched Lamar drive back to Dreamwood and waved goodbye to him. John lifted his head to see how tall the hotel was and observed the exterior. It had big, old windows and many plants and roots around the palace. It looked abandoned, but it was not. It looked haunted, but it was holy, "This does not look like a hotel," John said to himself. He approached the big, tall entrance doors. The entrance doors opened wide, and the wind blew in John's face as he entered. The first thing John saw was a wall with three elevators, twenty feet away from him. Also, the front desk with a wall full of keys behind it. The front desk was on the right side of the entrance door. On the left of the three elevators was a big café. John entered the café and stood in the middle of the dinner tables. He looked up and saw a gold balcony around the walls. His eyes got wider as he saw a big, gold chandelier hanging from the ceiling.
