John woke up the next morning with the feeling of fear roaming inside his belly. He thought about whether he would be in maximum prison for a long time. He started to turn from side to side on his bed to get rid of his worries. John stopped turning and felt something touch his cheek. He rapidly turned around and heard someone in his room, "He woke up," someone said. John got up from his bed and lit one of his candles. John saw a male face with a slight of clown makeup on. John lit all the candles in his room for clarity and saw two men in dirty working clothes. They both had on tan boots, cargo pants, black working gloves, and an undershirt. One was bigger, taller, muscular, and older than the other one. John was speechless and did not know what to do.
John sprinted out the door, got in the elevator, and ran to the lobby. He saw Mr. Almighty sitting at the front desk reading the newspaper, "Why you running?" he said. "Why are there clowns in my room?" John asked. "Those are not clowns; it's a father and his son. The father's name is Santos, and his son's name is Cortez. They build guns and other types of ammunition weapons for us," Mr. Almighty said.
"They broke into your room like that? Their room is next door. They are your roommates," Mr. Almighty added.
"Roommates?" John said.
John turned around to go back to his room but bumped into Santos as he turned around. John turned back to Mr. Almighty, "I am going to see my mom to apologize for what I did and fix her home," John said. Mr. Almighty got up from his chair and walked towards John, "Be careful," he said. John tightly hugged Mr. Almighty for the first and last time. John had let go of Mr. Almighty and looked at the clowns, "We got your back if anything happens. Remember that in life, more friends, more drama," Cortez said. "Thank you," John said. John looked at Mr. Almighty, and he nodded at John. John ran out of the hotel and walked to Sosaville without fear of the unknown. Mr. Almighty and his clowns put John's red 1964 convertible in the garage for safekeeping. They had put a black cover on top of it, "He will be back for it," Mr. Almighty said.
Throughout the sinful day, De Medici and Rico got in their police cruiser and headed to Dreamwood, "This area is a dangerous playground to be in," Officer De Medici said. He looked at the Dreamwood sign from his car and used his fingers to pretend to shoot it, "Pow, pow," he said.
"There are two gangs that run Dreamwood. Ambitious and Six Gang. Ambitious is a small but dangerous organization that do drug trafficking, money laundering, prostitution, and kidnapping on the south side of Dreamwood. Then, we have the Six Gang who controls all the drug trafficking going in and out of Central Dreamwood. Sixes dedicate themselves to making all sorts of crazy drugs. They provide all the drugs to everyone. I do a lot of traffic stops in this area to find any narcotics or weapons in cars. Once these fools see me ride by, they let their crew know through their hidden headset they got on," De Medici said. "Who are the leaders?" Rico asked.
"These realms are wisely organized. They have a CEO as a business do. It is a challenge for us to take down the leader because if we do, another one will get promoted. We have to study these groups as we watch the streets and keep our cop identity low-key. We don't want to wake up the beast. Only the streets can help us, but they not talking. Those that join gangs join them to have a family because they have no family. These guys can be extremely brutal they don't care about life anymore. Bunch of nineteen and twenty-year-old kids trying to look tough. Why join? You not going to be no millionaire. All they do is fight this, fight that. The idea of it is foolish, and most of them are broke walking on my streets. They make my city look poor," he said.
On the other side of Catalinas, John was heading to his mom's house, and Lamar noticed him, "What are you doing here?" he asked. "I am going to Sosaville to apologize to my mom for what I did," John said. "You can't go back to Sosaville. That hood belongs to Barbarics, and they are after you. You can't interfere with another gang's territory; there are boundaries. Barbarics own that neighborhood now. If you get near, you get your brains blown out. You don't even got no heat on you! You bold like that, huh? Look, write down a letter to her instead, and I will make sure she receives it, okay. I already spoke to her, and she is fine," Lamar said. John wrote on a letter of everything he was sorry for and gave it to Lamar, "I will make sure she gets it. Now, go on home; your face and name are known everywhere; save your life," Lamar said. As John left the shop, he stood and stared at the ground for a minute. Then, he turned around to Lamar, "No! I am going to Sosaville and apologize to my mom! Face to face!" John screamed. John ran as fast as he could and proceeded to go to Sosaville, "No! John, you don't understand that place is not the same anymore! Come back!" Lamar cried.
