Ayla,
"God, when did our Zack get so tall?" We're in the garden having lunch. Salwa is in her element. She loves her cousins to bits and the feelings mutual. In fact Zack and Zoya can't get enough of her, taking turns to hold her. Salwa however is a little fuss pot so instead she has them painting with her.
"When was last time you were here Ayla?" Zara throws me a glare.
I know she's upset with me. She's been on about us coming up to stay over for the last few weeks as lately I've found myself more down my parents house than usual due to my little madam not taking no for an answer, otherwise I would be only 10 mins away from Zara.
Ever since James and Tommy have arrived that little girl of mine wants to be down her grandparents constantly. I think I need to nip this in the bud and soon, especially after last night.
"Penny for your thoughts!" Zara's voice pulls me away from my brooding.
Absolutely not!!
"I'm sorry Zara, I've just been busy with the Cafe and little madam over there has decided she likes to reside down my parents home." I don't want to add the reason why. I can't!
"Well aslong as she's happy that's the main thing, but Mamma and Papa are looking forward to having her stay for the weekend, we all are." She smiles over at the children and I see a flicker of sadness wash over her pretty face.
My heart does a flip. I know that every time she looks at Salwa, she sees her brother in her, how can she not! She's a spitting image of him.
"I miss him Ayla." She sobs quietly, ". I miss him so much, but when I see my beautiful niece , I thank Allah that we have a part of him here with us." She sniffs, wiping away a stray tear.
My heart bleeds at her words and soon enough my tears unleash. She grabs a hold of my hand and together we sit in silence, silently reminiscing over a beautiful man that touched so many hearts.
"Ayla". Something in her voice tells me she's nervous all of a sudden.
I turn and give her my full attention, I see her fidgeting with her wedding ring and it's confirmed . She's building up to something, something off importance, something that has her on edge.
Oh crap!!
"What is it Zara, you're scaring me!." I take hold of her hand to stop the fidgeting, her eyes are filled with unshed tears and now it's my turn to be nervous but I don't let it show as I want her to confide In me and unburden herself.
"Ayla, you mean a lot to me, Afsan marrying you was also one of the best days of my life as I gained a sister in you and I hope nothing will change that." Now her tears are making their ways down her face and soon enough I'm joining her.
"I know Zara, I'm lucky to have you too, but what has bought this up all of a sudden?" I wipe away her tears, her beautiful eyes so like my Afsan look absolutely breathtaking ,my heart hurts looking at them.
"What do you think of Tarik?" She ask cautiously.
Woah, she did a total 180 on me!!
"What.. where is this.."
"Ayla, listen to me!" She interrupts with a look of determination marring her face. "If you are happy with marrying Tarik that's fine but if you are only marrying him to please Mamma, then please don't ,you hear me!!" She gives my hand a squeeze.
