Chapter 14

Ayla,

"You look so beautiful, pregnancy definitely suits you." I beam at Amanda.

"Ughh, I look like a beach whale who has swallowed a ship." She sighs tiredly.

Laughing at the comment, I pull her in for a hug, which she instantly returns. "I'm so happy to see you, I've missed this". I murmer over her shoulder.

She pulls away. "You don't know how good it is to have you back Ayla."

"It's good to be back." I reply, touching Amanda's huge bump in awe.

"Is it! How are you feeling?" She asks softly.

I know what she's referring to. We had a good catch up. There are no secrets between Amanda and I. She was like family to me before she officially became a member. She says she's the lucky one when in fact we are. She's the one who captured Uncle Robert's heart and he finally settled down and got married. One of Mamma's wishes finally came true.

"I don't know really." I admit with a sigh. "I mean, obviously nothing has changed regarding my feelings for him. To be honest, the way he is now, the way he is with Thomas , makes me feel things that I have no right in feeling, especially when I know that he is not happy with that bitch." I spit out angrily.

Amanda takes my hand into hers. "Really, I thought all is well in paradise, especially with the way Karina goes on and on and on about the pair and her grandson." She rolls her eyes.

"Yeah right!! I heard them arguing yesterday. It was about me." I recall back to last night.

"Why is that? You've barely been back for a couple days." Poor Amanda is clueless.

"She saw us at the Bliss Cafe in town. Mamma and I went there after shopping, J..James came in with little Thomas and Mamma asked him to join us." My face start to heat up as I remember the encounter. The way he looked, the way his eyes devoured my face.

"Your blushing cute girl." Amanda laughs. "I take it you weren't expecting seeing him so soon!" She continues laughing at my stupid blushing face.

"Stop!! It's not funny, I almost made an ass out of myself!" I put my hands up to cover my face from Amanda.

"Why is that? You look so adorable right now". She cooes.

"Stop. You're making it worse. You know how I get!" I huff out, more than embarassed.

"Okay! Okay, no more teasing, so tell me, how did he look?! She stops laughing, but you can see her eyes shining with mirth.

"He..he..looked beautiful."I admit quickly. "He's changed, but in a good way. I like the changes ."I fidget with the Cushion from the sofa.

"Ahh, look at you!!" Amanda whips the cushion away from me."You know there was no point in going away when you're basically at stage one again." She admits seriously.

"Well thanks for the vote of confidence, Dear!!." I sigh loudly, pretending hurt. She instantly regrets her words as she sees my sad face. I try not to laugh but I can't help it, she looks absoloutley mortified.

"Oh you meanie. I thought you were serious!" She playfully whacks me on the arm

"Ouch!! That really hurt!" I cry out.

"Oh I'm sorry. I didn't me...."

"Ouch. what was that for!" I laugh out, loving the expressions on her pretty face.

"You know perfectly well young lady." She playfully glares at me, folding her arms over her huge belly.

"Okay, okay, no more."I sit up and pull a straight serious together. She looks at me and a few seconds later we're both laughing.
