Otto was not prepared to deal with such a scandal the next morning his sister was dragged in front of the court while the rest of the Targaryens and Velaryons stood beside the throne. Princess Visenyra stood closest to the throne on her father's right with her husband by her side. Both were dressed in the Targaryen colours what was different was that both the princess's twin blades were on her person.
Queen Aemma was seated near her husband; she did not look like a woman who had just lost her child instead she looked like an avenging warrior dressed in the Targaryen colours but wearing the symbol of her maternal house and the jewellery of her late Lady mother. A reminder that she descended from a powerful house that would take this attack personally.
As his sister was on the floor shaking Otto tried to think of something to say, "Your Grace, Your Highness I am sure that this is just a misunderstanding." Anger filled Aemma and Dreamfyre let out a loud roar alongside Vhagar and Arrax who also sensed their rider's fury. Daemon kept his emotions under control as both Rhaenyra and Laena were depending on him to keep his head.
Visenyra's face was cold and empty, even though Arrax had revealed that she was fuming her eyes stayed empty like a void that swallowed you. The eldest child of the Royal couple looked down at Otto with an unknown expression "My mother has Targaryen blood in her and has claimed her dragon do you think that is a misunderstanding? We are the blood of Old Valyria our old home destroyed by the doom" as Visenyra spoke she moved towards the now pale and shaking man "Our blood runs pure with the flames and magic of our old home, yet you seem to think it's the reason for my mother's miscarriage instead of the poison your pathetic family member put in my mother's drink".
She spat her last words with venom as the court listened in shock, but Visenyra wanted house Hightower to suffer "She has served my mother since her marriage to my royal father could it be she is the reason for the death of my siblings" Her question would cause rumours and speculation but that was what she intended to do.
As she stood in front of Otto her eyes drifted to his daughter who watched the proceedings with angry eyes. "Oh, is your daughter of the same ambitious, spiteful stock as you?" Alicent quickly stepped out of sight and fixed her features. In a panic, Otto needed to save himself and his brother unfortunately it came at the expense of his sister "Your Grace this was not the intention of House Hightower she acted on her own and we apologize for having such a malicious woman in our family".
Rhaenyra looked at her hand intertwined with Daemon's her eyes filled with anger 'How dare they!' Her anger was slowly starting to show Daemon and Laena both squeezed her hands helping her to calm down a bit before glancing at Alicent who seemed to be staring at her sister with venom in her eyes. So that was how it was going to be.
The court watched as the eldest princess turned to her father who nodded and there was a quick nod exchanged and then blood. The princess had slit the throat of the woman and left her to bleed out on the floor. As the princess walked back to her father's side Aemma looked Otto dead in the eyes and spoke "Please remove that trash from my castle" The rest of the court watched silently as the body was quickly removed and blood cleaned up.
"The Executioner" somebody mumbled as they stared at the princess who had somehow managed to not get a drop of blood on her. Multiple people nodded in agreement as the princess and her husband exchanged a chaste kiss before the king looked at his hand. "Otto Hightower I am relinquishing you of your position and sending you back to Oldtown to help your brother get House Hightower affairs in order. Do not return unless I call for you"!
Otto nodded and quickly fled the room his daughter behind him while Visenyra and Rhaenys exchanged small smiles finally they were free of the HighTowers and their attitude. Rhaenyra however waited until the room was filled with just their family and turned to her father "Kepa nyke jaelagon naejot dīnagon yn mērī lo laena dīnagon keskydoso vala"(Father I want to marry but only if Laena married the same man)
Daemon and Laena both stood with Rhaenyra as she spoke and the members of the royal family understood Corlys and Viserys looked at each other and nodded in agreement "Mērī lo issa daemon" (Only if the man is Daemon) The two women shared a pleased look with Daemon before the man spoke "Kesan treasure zirȳ" (I will treasure them).
Visenyra looked on with a pleased smile at least one relationship was now made official "Then shall we announce it in the next meeting?" Aemma and Rhaenys nodded before their husbands also agreed. Great now their houses would be joined and there would be legitimate heirs for Driftmark and the Stepstones. Not that she would say it out loud but when the time came she would casually mention it.
Now if only her parents would stop trying for another child against her best wishes and instructions.
