Screams woke the entirety of the red keep the next morning, Visenyra bolted up and rushed to her father's room, only to see the Maesters gathered around his bed with sad expressions. She entered the room and they all got on their knees "Your Majesty." Visenyra walked over to her father and held his limp hand before kissing his head.

"The King is dead send the ravens" A guard nodded and left the room. Rhaenys entered after and met Visenyra's steady gaze "Cousin, please ride to Dragonstone and inform our family to come to the Keep immediately the king is dead".

Rhaenys did not even nod she rushed out of the room Corlys stood outside observing Visenyra who took one deep breath and then spoke "Prepare him for the proper funeral rights" The maesters stared at the Princess now their Queen and bowed as they rushed out of the room her voice echoed in the halls "This will show me if you are worthy to stay and serve my family." As the servants all left the room the Queen stood with her cousin-in-law her hands shaking as tears fell down her face.

Corlys placed a hand on her shoulder knowing that she would need some support they never recovered easily when a parent died but now Visenyra had lost both. The man stayed with her for a few minutes before speaking "Are you ready?" The Targaryen woman cleared her throat and wiped her eyes "Yes, let's go and cousin stay on my right I trust you." Corlys nodded.

When the door was opened Visenyra walked out with a calm expression her head held high and the stature of a true ruler two paces behind her on the right washer cousin the lord of Driftmark and Master of Ships Corlys Velaryon. The servants all bowed as she passed some watched on in wonder and others in shock. Her father had just died yet she seemed to be calm about it was she that cold?

The two made their way into the Small council chamber where the men were all gathered. Visenyra sat in her father's chair and looked at them "My father is dead per his last request and authority given I am now the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms" She watched as some of the men frowned while others immediately got on their knees, she would deal with them later.

"My father's funeral will happen the day before my coronation, and then we shall talk about whether or not some of you deserve your positions". Corlys smirked when he noticed several men paling.

By midday, the entirety of Kings Landing knew that the King had died, and Princess Visenyra was now Queen. So, when five large dragons flew over the city before landing in the pit everyone knew that the rest of the Targaryens were present except for one Princess Leana who had taken it upon herself to collect Mekar and the children.

Syrax landed first and Rhaenyra hurried into the Keep her youngest child strapped to her chest the others sat on their father's dragon and slipped off following their mother. Rhaenyra rushed into what was once her father's chambers and his body lay there in a room smelling strongly of herbs. She could see the healers of Essos and already used their methods to preserve his body.

A choked sob left her lips as she held the man's hand for the last time tears rolling down her face as the youngest daughter of King Viserys and Queen Aemma knelt at her father's bed and wept while her children and husband stood at the door. Tears ran down their own faces upon realising that the man they called grandfather and brother was truly gone.

The pale moonlight shone down on Visenyra as she sat in the study gazing blankly at the portrait of her parents before their mother died. Those were happier days before she had left to travel, and her father was considering her warnings. Before Alicent grew so close to her sister.

The door to the study was pushed open and in walked Rhaenyra her eyes red from the crying with Daemon behind her. Laena had yet to return, and they were worried. Upon seeing her older sister Rhaenyra felt her heart drop Visenyra looked blank too blank. Her eyes were a faint pink colour an indication that her sister had cried but as the new Queen she probably did not have the time to mourn and sob like Rhaenyra had.

Daemon gazed at the portrait and frowned the pain was all too fresh, yet Visenyra was here doing the duties of a true ruler yet sitting in her father's study knowing she would never see him again would be torture. The woman looked at them and smiled a bit "I have been kissed by the stranger so my children will never know the pain I feel but I will know more pain than a mother should" Her eyes were glazed over yet incredibly focused, and Daemon felt his heart stop.

It had been years since Visenyra spoke like that of her dreams and nightmares he had thought that Dragon dreamers stopped speaking the prophecies after they grew up. It seemed he was wrong.

Rhaenyra watched her sister with a fearful yet worried expression "Daemon, has she gone mad" her husband only seemed to wish that his eldest niece had gone mad instead of this. "Rhaenyra when you both were younger it was revealed that your sister was a dragon dreamer. After your mother's death, we assumed that she had lost the gift or stopped telling us what she saw after your parents ignored her warnings about Aemma's death."

Rhaenyra felt her breath stop and suddenly things began to make sense: her sister's hatred of the Hightowers, Visenyra's pushing for the triad marriage for her sake, the numerous times she begged mother to stop getting pregnant and her decision to leave all those years ago. Glancing at her sister she walked over and pulled her into a tight hug.

Visenyra allowed herself to snap out of her pity party and look over at her uncle, they both knew why the girl had stopped sharing her dreams. Now however they were afraid it would come to pass.

Suddenly the door barged upon and in walked Mekar with Leana behind him the two embraced both the princesses in a tight hug before Visenyra chose to put it to an end. Shall we retire for the night" her voice sounded almost non-existent as they all nodded and Mekar escorted her to their rooms. She curled into her husband's arms and wept bitterly not just for her father but for herself.

Being reincarnated as a Targaryen was hard but she grew to love everything about this new life of hers. That was until she became a dragon dreamer, the visions often caused her to wake her parents with her screams.

As she grew older, she learned how to control them and she made her plans, two months before she left Kingslanding she had a vision that shook her core and very being. She then decided to leave at fourteen the princess left for her first trip coming home on her sixteenth birthday. Yet the dream once again began, and it kept repeating until she pulled her parents aside and told them she had to leave. They understood and she did not return until her nineteenth year after she fell in love with Mekar.

Falling asleep in her husband's arms she prayed that her coronation would go well and that her dream did not come to pass. Unknown to her standing in the dragon pit Daemon was doing the same. For they were two true born dragons and the gods intended for dragons to be with dragons. These two had chosen temporary mates but eventually fate would once again guide them into each other's arms.

Author's Note

I hope you all enjoy this little plot twist and the truth of why Visenyra left KIngslanding. While the gods did reincarnate her. Dragons bless those worthy as dreamers this was just a consequence of her being a reincarnated soul touched by the gods. She had the mental fortitude not to go mad and the dragons chose her.
