The thing is, Lisa was always known as one of the most powerful being to even exist in their world who could achieve everything she wanted so having a mate who was growing weaker as Jennie's baby bump got bigger and she could do nothing about it made her feel like it was the end of her world because she was finally rendered powerless.

"So, you finally found your mate?" An elder asks with her pale eyebrow arched as her silver hair shines in the candle light.

She doesn't look at her, but nods. She is away from home again because she needed to fill out her leader duties and that entailed a meeting with the inner elders circle.

"I heard she is carrying the Manoban heir too," she remarks. It doesn't nod because it sounded more like a statement than a question. A girl hums; her black hair swishes in the air as her red eyes pin on her, "We all know omegas don't have a particular chance of surviving carrying a Manoban heir. The Manobans really do know how to keep their power intact, even sacrificing your own mate, Young Manoban, no?"

She doesn't react still, "Mates work differently. Even though I tried to keep her off of a child, her omega had intervened, I assume, it's more powerful."

They collectively shake their heads, "Young Manoban, having a stable Lalisa Manoban is far more important to us vampires than getting a new Manoban. Mates are serious and they should be made permanent as soon as they come to you. We taught you that, Lalisa."

She purses her lips, she knew that, she knew that well and she had wondered how was it that Jennie got pregnant even though she had pulled out and not let her liquids inside. It was obvious something her omega had pulled to hold to even a single sperm of her and it had saddened her that her omega would defy her like that when she had insisted upon no child at all, it had defied and on top of that even while she was gone, Jennie didn't understand the depth of her need to keep the child away from her and her mate safe.

Now she didn't react at all to all the complications Jennie was having except holding her hand and comforting her, she stayed quiet ㅡ it almost bordered to being aloof and ignorant towards the complications ㅡ but she could react could she? She couldn't because her reacting meant anger towards her mate, meant leaving the manor once again to calm herself down. She knew when her and Jennie's eyes met during one of these episodes, she never reacted and she knew it hurt her mate but there was nothing she could do.

She was there wasn't she? Jennie chose their child, chose her instinct, so she shouldn't be the one to complain when Lisa was getting closer to losing her mate everyday the labour day neared. Three more months since it had been a month already for the child to be born, way before a werewolf pup would be born; this pup was a vampire so it would grow fast.

"Have you thought of what you are going to do when she dies during childbirth?" That was the thing about vampires, they didn't feel much if it wasn't about their mates so they always were blunt and logical as their brain allowed them to be but it didn't mean it didn't hurt Lisa when they talked like that.

"What else could she do? She got her mate aeons after, she might be lucky enough to get another after more aeons. You just have to wait, Lalisa-ah."

Lisa rises from her seat and brushes the imaginary lint off of her overcoat, "I will take my leave now."

She flys with her coat shining in the pale moonlight then.

"Lady Jennie is getting weaker, my Lord. As the child grows, the child is starting to drink more of the young master's mate's blood, more than we could cover up because the child is technically a new vampire. Thankfully, the child isn't going for anything else, but my lady is getting weaker." The healer reports to Lord Manoban.
