Reader's PoV:
Lisa and I spend most of the morning, plus half the afternoon, chasing Mara around the zoo, I must omit chasing Mara had been a very good distraction from this whole situation with Eleanor and Olivia, beside I knew Lisa was itching to ask me all about my date with Eleanor.
When we finally left the Zoo around four, we when to this pizza place, with a play area, that has a ball pit, tunnels, ropes plus a little maze, there was also some video games, a kids dream, I couldn't help thinking that Mara would definitely be sleeping well tonight.
When we walked through the door of Lisa's house just a little after six, Mara ran straight upstairs to wash up and get ready for bed, as I had somehow let myself get talked into watching some Disney film, I couldn't resist those beautiful big puppy dog eyes of Mara's, Lisa told Mara that she would need to get ready for bed before we watched the film, we watch Mara run upstairs laughing at her.
"She will no doubt fall asleep halfway through the film, they we can have some adult time," in other words, Lisa wanted to know in detail what happened with Eleanor last night.
"As long as there is alcohol," I say with a chuckle.
"Of course, there is alcohol, I will even text the husband to bring more on his way home," Lisa says waving her hand in the air, I love how she simply calls him the husband, I love everything about their relationship, it also makes me a little sad, as that was how me and Olivia use to be, shaking my head to get all thoughts of Olivia out of my head, because I knew if I let myself think about Olivia, I would get the strong urge to call Olivia to meet up for a drink, I couldn't do that to Eleanor, not until I knew where we stood.
Mara had gotten us to watch the Little Mermaid, I loved this film from my own childhood, so I really didn't mind watching it, Mara had fallen asleep halfway through the film just like Lisa had told me she would.
Lisa and I continue to watch the film until her husband got home, he handed Lisa the wine bottle, giving her a light kiss on the lips before scooping up little Mara into his arms and carrying her upstairs to bed.
"Should we finish watching the film before opening the bottle?" Lisa asked me from the other side of the sofa, while holding up the bottle of wine.
"We can pause the film, while we open the bottle, then come back and finish watching the film," I answer as I needed to pee anyway, we pause the film and get up from the sofa, I head up stairs to the toilet while Lisa headed towards the kitchen to pour us some wine.
After washing my hands, I check my phone, I felt a little disappointed that I didn't have any messages from Eleanor, maybe I should message her, what if she was busy? I wouldn't want to disturb her, why the hell was I making this harder than it needed to be? It wasn't that bloody complicated, Eleanor most likely hasn't message as she knew I was spending the day with Lisa and Mara, it was that simple.
After mentally bitch slapping myself for being an idiot, I pocket my phone, while promising myself that I would message Eleanor after I got home even if it was to just say goodnight, I headed back downstairs towards the kitchen, where Lisa was waiting with two glasses of wine.
"So come on, I'm dying to know what happened with Dr O'Hara last night, since you when against my advice," Lisa says sounding like a teenager wanting to know if her best friend had kissed her boyfriend on their first date, "just please tell me you didn't sleep with her," Lisa added after taking a sip of her wine.
"Sorry I cannot do that," I tell her lifting my own wine to my lips.
"Oh y/n," Lisa was shaking her head at me, "She has a girlfriend, why would you do that?" Lisa says in a disapproving tone.
"that's the thing, Eleanor has broken up with her girlfriend, we are both single," I tell her with a big goofy grin.
"Really?" Lisa was shocked, clearly, she hadn't been expecting me to say that "When?"
"Two nights ago, Eleanor only told me yesterday," I added that last part in-case Lisa wondered why I hadn't said anything the night before when we were having drinks and dinner.
"So, I take it you slept together then?" I nodded my head, "Did you get her out of your system?" I shake my head sadly, "what are you going to do?" Lisa asked me.
"I don't know Lisa, I really like Eleanor, she is an amazing woman, funny, sexy, sensitive those she tries to hide it, sophisticated, great in bed," I said as I get a flash from last night in my mind of us lying naked on her bed kissing, shaking my head slightly doing my best to get those images out of my head.
"What about Olivia?" Lisa asked me, I knew Lisa would never tell me who I can or couldn't date, however I knew me dating someone else who wasn't Olivia would be tough on her, as she adored Olivia, her whole family did, Lisa's children called us both aunties, Olivia and I had even agreed to name our first daughter Lisa, since Lisa had helped us get together and was always there for the both of us, was me dating Eleanor breaking up our family?
"I don't know, I love Olivia, I always will, she is my best friend, next to you of course, however I really like Eleanor and after last night..." I stop talking as I wasn't sure how to finish that sentence, if I kept dating Eleanor would I lose Olivia for good? And if I when back to dating Olivia would Eleanor and I go back to arguing all the time? I couldn't handle that, "God this is such a mess," I told Lisa as I begin to cry.
"Oh sweetie, come here," Lisa pulled me into a hug, Lisa was more then my best friend, she had become a sister to me, "You know I love Olivia and want nothing more than to see the two of you married with a family, however, can you put your hand on your heart and tell me that Eleanor could make you happy? If not than you must end it now before this goes any further, and you end up hurting you both," Lisa tells me, and I knew she was right, I needed to end things with O'Hara.
