Burning Rose

Rose darling

Rose woke up later in the afternoon with a headache. She doesn't really know when she fell asleep, she just knows how much she cried. Thinking of every possible outcome she could come up to, from going back to Dr. Volmer, to run away into unknown, to raise this child on her own with her parents and sadly even to take her own life. Those thoughts made her cry even harder, but after a while she couldn't think anymore and she fell asleep.

But now she barely could get up, make herself something to eat and think of what to do next. 

˝I think I should call Emma˝ she said to herself and went to get her phone.

The phone rang only two times and Emma answered.

˝Hey Rose.˝ she said.

And then again, tears started filling Roses eyes, the familiar pain in her throat preventing her to speak right away. She did open her mouth, but nothing came out.

˝Rose, you there?˝ Emma asked.

She took a deep breath and calmed herself down as much as she could and finally said ˝I need a favor.˝

˝Yes, what is it? Is everything alright? You don't sound OK.˝ Emma started, but Rose wasn't in the mood to answer questions now.

˝Please, don't ask me anything, just....˝ 

She took a pause. Not knowing if she could tell her.

˝Just what Rose?˝ Emma said calmly.

˝I need you to come over..........And I need you to bring something over with you.˝

She had only a few seconds to decide whether or not to say anything, because they were already talking. But Rose thought to herself, if she told her about being raped and being in love with much, much older man, she could tell her about a possible pregnancy. 

˝I need you to get me a pregnancy test.˝ 

Emma said nothing. She didn't know how to response, but she thought it was better to talk in person. So the only words she was able to make out were ˝I'll be right there.˝ And Emma hung up the phone.

It was done. She told someone. ˝Now lets hope it will be just fine˝ Rose said to herself. 

Rose waited and waited. She got worried for Emma. What if she got scarred and didn't want to come. What if she got tired of helping her out and left her alone. 

She walked to the window in her room every 15 seconds to see if she got there. It felt like a lifetime has gone by when she checked the time, but it only 20 minutes has gone by. 

˝Ok, she still has time. She probably went to get some tests.˝ She tried to calm herself.

˝I need to do something.˝ she looked around her room and saw her guitar next to her bed, but didn't feel like playing right now. So she went downstairs in the living room on the couch to check her phone.

After a while the front door opened and scarred Rose so much she jumped on the couch making her loosing a grip on her phone.

˝ROSE! I'm here!˝ she yelled and went straight to the kitchen. Rose got up and turned around to see Emma putting down 3 white bags on the counter. 

She was unable to speak, but then Emma turned right to Rose. ˝Oh, there you are.˝ she said with a smile on her face.

˝Now. I got 7 electronic Clearblue tests and 5 regular ones, just to be sure. I also got us some ice cream while we wait and a non alcoholic children champaign to celebrate the outcome, whether it is good or not.˝ 

˝Why do I have a feeling you want me to have a baby?˝ Rose said to her.
