A Forest Away (dnf)

Sixteen

"Okay class today I'll be naming off the pairs for a project we will be doing for the next couple of days on our lesson", I hear the whole class let out a groan, me included.

"I hope we get paired up", I hear Hannah say next to me.

I nod in agreement.

The teacher then picks up her clipboard as she adjusts her glasses. As she starts to name of pairs I patiently waited for my name to be called on.

"Hannah and Sophia", the teacher announces which causes me to frown.

I just hope I don't get stuck with someone who sucks and doesn't do their part of the work.

"And last but not least, George and Clay you will be partners", I straighten up to the news.

Clay turn around and gives me a thumbs up to which I smile to. "Alright please use your time wisely, you may move to sit with your partner", Hannah playfully places a hand on my shoulder.

"Make sure you actually do the project instead of making goo goo eyes at him", she says.

I shake my head as I scoffed.

She then takes her leave and Clay immediately takes her spot next to me. "Well I guess our hang out came sooner than we expected", he says as he gives me a soft smile. "I suppose you right", I say as I return the smile.

"Time to clean up!", my teacher announces.

"Do you want to still work on this? After school", Clay asks as I packed my things away.

"Sure, it's better to try and get it done with"

"Where do you wanna go?"

"Not sure, where do you wanna go?"

"We could go to my house, unless you're aloud to and want to go "

"I'm sure my dad will understand besides, he's always bothers me about my grades", I say as I turn around to send a quick message to my dad about it.

"I'll met you at the front then", he says as he began to walk away.

As I slipped my phone back into my pocket I feel a slight playful shove against my shoulder. "Sooo what happened!", Hannah asks excitedly.

"Nothing, I'm just gonna go to his house so we can do the project"

"Dang already? Sheesh George at least have him invite you to dinner first", I roll my eyes.

"The project isn't gonna be the only thing you guys will be doing", she says as she whispers into my ear.

I feel my face start to heat up. "Hannah!", I say in a hushed yell.

"Just be safe while doing okay?"

"Hannah! You know what I'm done with you, goodbye", I say embarrassed.

We get off the bus while I followed Clay close behind. "You sure live far into the woods", I say as we've been walking on the same dirt path for awhile.

"Yeah well me and my dad both like it that way", I hum in acknowledgment.

Right when we walked passed a big tree I see a house in the distance.

"Welcome to my humble home", he says as we neared the place. He then takes out his keys and begins to open the door.

"Nobody's home by the way, my dad's at work", he says opening the door then letting me walk in first.
