A Forest Away (dnf)

Fourteen

*George's POV*
I wake up in the middle of the night feeling hungry. I head down stairs to go get something to eat but when I was starting to get down, I could see my dad running around frantically while taking his stuff.

He hadn't noticed me so I waited on top of the stairs and just watched him. Once it looked like he was done with whatever it was he was doing, he headed straight for the door.

I waited for a moment just in case he forgot something but he didn't return so I went to the kitchen and grabbed an apple out of the fruit bowl.

I look out the window and see my dad driving off. I go back upstairs and knock on my parents door.

"Mum?", I ask quietly.

"Are you awake?"

"Come in sweetheart", she says tiredly.

I open the door and see my mum laying in bed. I walk up and sit on the edge of the bed next to her "Did you need something dear?", she asks.

"No, I just wanted to ask you if you knew where dad was going in such a rush"

"Oh, well he said something in work came up and that it was urgent", I never knew where my dad works or what he does.

I was about to ask my mum about it but she seemed really tired.

"Oh okay, well I'll let you rest mother, goodnight", I say as I walk out the door.

"Goodnight Hon", She says.

I walk back to my room while eating the apple. I then threw the core away in the trash and got back into bed.

I feel the bed sink in front of me

Meow

I open my eyes and see Luna in front of me. I reach a hand up and pet her behind her ear, she lends into the touch as she purred. I then bring her close to my chest, I let her do the circle thing that animals do before they sleep.

She gets comfortable and I petted her until I fell asleep.

*Clay's POV*
I wake to the sound of birds chirping outside, I sit up and stretch then make my way to the kitchen. I grab a bowl of cereal and sit myself at the dining table.

My dad then comes out of his room dressed in his work clothes.

"I'm going to work, remember I don't want you leaving this house and as for punishment again I want you to clean the whole house, bathroom included", He stated, I goan "You did this to yourself Clay", He says as he puts on his coat then he leaves out the door

Great.

I finish my cereal and began cleaning.

I put away the cleaning supplies and threw myself onto the couch out of breath.

What now?

And that's when I got an idea. But it would require some rule bending. I'm not really the one to be breaking the rules but recently I have been.

I get up and head for the back door. I look around to only see nothing but my own backyard.

I began running but suddenly I hear the roaring of a car. I quickly jump into a bush and hide. I see a black lexus truck driving along the forest floor.

What is someone doing driving far into the woods?

The car then drives past me.
