Twenty-Six

I stood in the lunch line with Clay's hand in mine.

We decided that we were comfortable enough with showing our relationship to the public like holding hands and kissing each other here and there.

Of course there was people that gave us disgusted looks and made rude comments. But there was still people that supported us. And besides people will be people. We knew that the positive would always outweigh the negative.

"Hey love birds", we hear someone say behind us. We turn to see none other than Nick. "How would you guys like to come with me on a little adventure?", I raise a brow.

"Adventure where?", Clay asks. "I found this cave while I was walking around the woods. I think we should go and check it out", Nick replies. "What if a bear lives in it?", I comment.

"Then Mr. Wolf guy over here can help us", he says as he points at Clay. "So you're basically gonna use me?", Clay responds. "Hey you said it not me", Nick says as he raises his hands up.

"Sure I'll go", I say. "S-sure!? George what if an actual bear is living in it. Those things can be nasty creatures especially when they're trying to protect their young", the blond explained.

"You encountered a bear before?", I ask. "I may have gotten too close to a bear cub once and almost had my face bitten off"

"Skill issue", Nick commented.

Clay glares at him. I then tug on his sleeve. "Come on Clay pleasee", I say as I give him the puppy dog eyes, knowing very well he couldn't resist.

He rolls his eyes as he lets out a sigh. "Fine I guess I'll go"

N: "Sweet! Then meet me at the back entrance after school"

G: "Why the back?"

N: "Because I know a short cut that can get us there faster"

C: "Okay but just know that if a bear does shows up I'm taking George and leaving your ass"

N: "Bros before hoes"

G: "I am not a hoe"

N: "Sure you are. You'd do anything to get in his pants right now"

I open my mouth in shock.

C: "Woah! Okay that's enough"

N: "What it's true! I literally almost had to witness it", he says as he shivers dramatically.

C: "Nick I paid you to stop bringing it up!"

N: "Hey never said I was a loyal customer", he shrugged.

C: "J-just shut up before someone hears you. But I still mean what I said"

N: "Fine be the knight in shining armor and save your little damsel in distress. And leave me for dead"

C: "You know I'm-"

N: "Yes I know you're kidding. You're too soft to actually do it"

C: "I am not soft" 

N: "Yes you are"

C: "Am not!"

N: "Are to!"

They went back and forth for a few more moments before I had enough. "Okay guys enough! You guys are so immature"

N: "Me? I'm being immature? I'm literally the youngest one here and yet I act more mature than both of you combined"

I just scoffed and rolled my eyes.
