A Forest Away (dnf)

Eighteen

*George's POV*
We laughed as we ran through the quiet morning of the forest.

Whizzing pass the trees as we playfully shove one another.

Clay always seemed to always have a way to catch up with me.

He was really fast to say the least.

I'm surprised he isn't in any sports.

"I win!", he exclaims.

"No fair, you cheated!", I say out of breathe. "Oh yeah how?"

"You have long legs"

"Thanks?", he says as he lets out a slight laugh.

I make my way to the front of the door but stop and turn to face him. "I had fun", I tell him. "Yeah me too"

"Remember Clay you don't have to know soon, stuff like that takes time to figure out", he face softens as he realizes what I'm talking about. He then beings a hand to cup my face.

I lean into the touch.

He stares into my eyes but then plants a soft gentle kiss on my lips. "Is this gonna become a regular thing now?", I ask him with a smile.

"Maybe"

"Good", I say as I reconnect our lips again.

"I'll see you Monday okay", I tell him. "That's too long", he says with a frown.

He then sees the my smirk. "Shut up, I know what you're gonna say"

"What was I gonna say?", I say acting clueless.

"You know what"

"Don't know what you mean but anyway you won't see me for just a day. Just one day I'm sure you'll be fine", I say as I go on my tippy toes to lightly kiss his nose.

"Goodbye Clay", I softly say to him. "Goodbye George", he quietly responds as he began to walk backwards.

I turn and open the door. I make my way inside and rest my forehead against the door after closing it. I take a deep breath as I smile to myself.

"Well he seems nice", I hear someone say which causes me to jump. I quickly turn to the voice.

"Mum? w-what are you doing here?", I say I as look to see her leaning against the wall with her arms crossed along with a smug smile.

"They decided they wanted me to work the night shift today", she explains. "Where's dad?"

"He just left to a meeting, he won't be back until later on", I try to think of more questions to distract her with but fail.

"Who is he", she asks not dropping her smug smile.

"Um his name is Clay.. he's my.. friend.."

"Well what you guys did out there sure looked friendly", she says which causes my face start to burn.

"How much of that did you see?"

"Enough for me to know that you are guys are more then just friends"

"How long have you been together?", she adds on.

"We haven't made anything official nor put a label on it. He doesn't even know if he's gay or not"

"I'm assuming you were at his house last night", I nod.

"Did dad notice I was gone"

"I honestly believe he thought you were asleep by the time he came back home", I sigh in relief. "I'm gonna go shower, there's some cake in the fridge if you want some"
