Weeks Later...
January 27th...
6:34am"I don't think I can do this anymore" I said pacing the floor. Looking below the door to see any shadows.
"You can and you will. The day is coming"
"No it already went too far. That wasn't suppose to happen" I slightly raised my voice from a whisper. He sighs and chucked lowly. "So it was suppose to happen that way? You said no one will get killed "
"What? you must love those motha fuckers? But not for long" he slightly chuckled. I can feel the evil smirk that was plastered across his face.
"I don't want anything to do with this anymore. Call it off" i heard the dial tone before I could even finish my sentence. Sighing I sat back on the bed. I hated this feeling. I knew I was down with the plan but this ain't how he broke it down to me, no one was suppose to die. Looking at the time I knew I had time to sleep before having to get up again.
Promise
9:34amFixing Melody hair while she was sleeping in my arms, and I couldn't help but to think about everything that led up to this moment. I can't believe that we're getting ready for Marcus funeral. No one was expecting it to end so sour. Walking back into the bedroom, August was standing in-front of the mirror fixing his tie. Laying melody down, I stood in front of him trying to help but he gave me the cold shoulder once again. Ever since that night he found out Marcus passed, he's been giving me the cold shoulder. Barely wanting me to touch him or even talk for that matter. I've giving him time and time and time again to hisself but not talking to me is really getting annoying. Sighing I gave up and picked up Melody.
"We'll be in the car"
Picking up Mel and her diaper bag, I closed the door behind me coming face to face with Myra as she was walking out the guest room from across the hall.
"You look great" she said, I looked at her noticing she was dressed as well.
"Um thanks. You're coming to the funeral too?" I questioned fixing Mel in my arms.
"Uh yeah" I nodded hesitantly and walked down the stairs. I didn't know what to say to her solely because we took the DNA test last week and was waiting on the results. I had to admit that since we took the DNA test, I kind of separated myself from her because I didn't want to get so wrapped into our sister sister bond and she ends up not being my sister. I couldn't take another heart break moment.
"Y'all look nice" I softly smiled at them as they fixed their red tie.
"Thanks" Jeremiah said lowly.
"Thanks sis" Rico kissed my forehead as I heard August come downstairs.
"I'll meet y'all there" Rico said. I nodded and walked to the car. Strapping Melody in, I got in the passenger seat of Aug's truck. He got it shipped here since we needed transportation. He got in and I sat forward not wanting to even look at him. I heard the back door open and seen Myra getting in. Putting on my seatbelt he pulled off. Checking my phone I got a text message.
Polo🤍 (Mel's God Father): good morning. I wish I was there to support, I hope everything goes smoothly today for y'all. Luv ❤️
Cracking a small smile I sent him a quick text back. Taurus was over seas with his team doing some training since they won the championship. He's been keeping in contact checking in on how everyone was doing and I was greatly appreciated for that. Setting my phone down I noticed that he was looking at me at the corner of his eyes. Turning around looking at Melody shifting in her seat, I noticed that Myra was texting heavily on her phone.
